ParticipantThis thread…
(https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forums/forum/public-support-forums/help-and-support/dishwasher-help-forum/92169-hotpoint-dishwasher-f02)…seems to indicate that F02 can be caused by anti flood float switch activating. But, (as with filling time out) there is a separate message for this error. F01 and F06 respectively (https://www.hotpointservice.co.uk/dishwasher-repair/error-codes).

ParticipantHello Jontymox, I’m having the same with one that has a seperate motor pcb.
Funny thing is, upon my visit. The machine acted perfectly, wash and spin rotation completely normal.
5 minutes after i left….. juddering.
So, if i had to guess, I’d say component failing on module, especially considering the motor has 10 year manufacturer warranty.
Also searching for old threads which might help.

ParticipantThanks for the tip Dave.

ParticipantWell after some digging found out that ‘CLn’ is not an error message, and the knocking sound is expected.
The machine does use water form the water tank to clean the heat exchanger, just as I had expected.
Cheers.

ParticipantMachine completed Intensive wash without energising the dump valve solenoid at any time. Wiring loom continuity test was fine. So, fault on control module. GASP!

ParticipantSo, I managed to sit through an entire intensive wash (with no water intake error and no leak due to reducing water inlet pressure ideally). At no point did the RHS tank drain. When the program finished (after drying) this chamber was filled with water to hat was still like warm.
The machine was marketed (retailer search) as energy saving by pre-heating (presumably rinse water). So, this chamber is definitely akin to the Bosch heat exchange/dump valve system.

ParticipantIf ever you get a check water fault on a condensing dryer and the chamber isn’t full.
It because float is activated. Some machine use two metal pins and they get gunged up to complete circuit for similar fault.
Often the pump will be clogged or failed. Or float is misleading.
Can remove condensing tray, pour in a little water. Run machine and see if it fills chamber.
If it does, it’s not the pump, so float.
If the water doesn’t reach the chamber it’s the pump.
Hate candy/hoover dryers for this reason. Even changing a motor capacitor is a mission!

ParticipantThanks Dave. I’ll do that later.
I believe the problem is the RHS water chamber is always full – it hasn’t dumped the water.
It’s designed to fill with that tank empty afaict.

Was indeed wire chomped by weight beneath door lock. The plastic tie had been damaged, subsequently loom move wrong side of cabinet channel.
Bit embarrassed this took me so long. Just when was the last time I had a broken wire… Years!

ParticipantThanks for the tips here people.
Have added these steps into my fault finding process, much appreciated.

ParticipantThanks ray.t
This is my next port of call. Was time strapped today so just left it in a huff!
It’s really the only thing left!!!
The wires that feed the pump are micro-thin, so it’s more than likely.

ParticipantFitted eBay control module and new empty pump – still no drain action.
Waters fills, drum rotates etc, but will not drain.
If I select spin + pump, door locks, machine does drum distribution rotation, but simply doesn’t energise pump.
with water in tub spin and drain doesn’t end.
After manually draining water through filter, spin and drain will end.
So, don’t think pressure system is at fault.
I’m stumped!

ParticipantHello Dave.
Thanks for replies.
Yes, I removed control board and visually inspected for damaged tracks/components. There want anything. No domed capacitors, no roof-blown-off chips/triacs.
I metered the pump terminals. It wasn’t open circuit and no hum.
Ideally would place my voltage testers on pump feed terminal, but the they’re too bulky and don’t fit into the terminal slots!
Thanks for the info regards KN3 and eBay link.
