The drum does feel loose anyway and lifts up off the base quite easily, it does look and feel strange though. Whirlpool will send you a diagram if you ring them (i’ve got one but god knows where it is sorry) 0208 649 5450

There is a reset button for the heater overheat toc on the back of the dryer, a little red button. Press that first and if you hear a click then it’s just tripped off. Cause would be blocked filter/blocked vent/overloading. If not that then the heater and thermostats are in the back of these, and would be next place to look. Hope this helps

Unclip the front plate and look at the seam that runs along the inner drum. It can become miss-shapen and catch the outer tub when the drum is loaded. Take the drum out and hammer it flat if it looks bowed at all.

Could be the overflow switch in the base thats melted inside. Come across this a few times and it makes them do some weird and wonderful things.

It may just be the 3 friction pads that it all sits on that need replacing. i had one last week that jumped all over the place on spin. Couldn’t find anything else wrong so changed these and bingo. I’d not come across this on w/pool before only maytag

Yes yes yes! Thats what i like about UKW and all ways have and am sure it woldn’t become a cartel as we would all be part of it and not just a few people with the pretense of “working for everyone” and keeping it all to themselves. No i’ve not been to a meeting for a while and i don’t have much input but the future is not bleak and there will always be plenty out there. This is a proffesion and recognition is good but with it comes cost and paperwork. I think recognition the UKW way will keep this to a minimum so all can be included rather than using the cost to get rid of the little guy.

And like all indesit owners she forgot to mention it’s been noisy for about 3 months prior to “The explosion”. Surely the guy that went to look at it explained to her what happened? “Yes madam it’s a mess but it hasn’t exploded etc etc” Unless he was from the bomb squad of course or the daily liar?!
