ParticipantRe: Neff V5340X0GB/03 FD8507 W/Dryer
This is a Smeg built machine i think…and a job i hate 🙁 . The door seal has a double lip which means you have to be sure that both inner and outer ones are fitted properly. The easiest way i was told , and have used it once , was to put a little fairy liquid on the inside of the seal , fit a small section and then ‘feed’ the door seal round the tub edge .
The front does come off . You have to remove the control panel to access the top screws . Be careful of the bowden cable because there’s not much slack .
The repair instructions suggest taking the front concrete weight off but i’ve never done this….maybe thats why i’ve always struggled 🙂
The one advantage over a Neff built W/D is that the exhaust hose for the dryer heater going into the top of the door seal is quite flexible and this makes it a little easier to get the seal fitted at the top.
Good luck….

ParticipantActually Rocker , i’ve got the wrong machine. this doesn’t have an impellor jug. Sorry .
It may have a magnetic float switch for its levels though . When looking down at the sump , there might be a small cover in the 5 o’clock position . If this lifts off , you might find a small magnetic float under it. These can sometimes get gunged up with grease and crap , hindering the floats travel . Remove the float – REMEMBERING WHICH WAY IT SITS – clean out the float channel and refit . This could help .

ParticipantWhen you say it fills ok , does the water actually stop entering the machine once it reaches its level ? I’d be looking at the flow rate meter ( impellor jug ) , as they can give some odd faults . If it continually fills/empties , thats where i’d aim for first .

ParticipantAs washman says , there will probably be a plug and socket somewhere close to the hood…..may even be behind the extractor chimney if it has one . A lamp blowing in these appliances can take out a plug fuse , especially as they’re only 3A. Find the plug and you’ll probably find the problem

ParticipantYou could try and eliminate dispenser probs by just placing the tablet in the base of the machine instead of the dispenser and see if you still have the residue left after a wash cycle.
Plus….is the water heating up ?

ParticipantAs i said Rob , i havn’t seen it and its not on our list of fault indications. I was only trying to clarify the exact nature of the indication. Sorry i can’t be any more helpful
nomadPaul
ParticipantIIRC , Er1 is a PTC fault….Is the grill heating up ?

ParticipantIs this the one where the small motor control PCB is situated at rear lower right in machine ? ( Not working today and can’t be arsed to fire up laptop ) I’ve had a couple of these where a wire breaks right on the motor connector plug and isn’t really apparent until you actually remove the motor plug and closely examine it .
I’d check that first .nomadPaul
ParticipantIs it definitley the filter LED ? This doesn’t appear to be an error code as they tend to be accompanied by an ‘F*’ error displayed . Isn’t the machine less than 2 years old ? A service call to BSH if it is , maybe .

Participant…and therefore , anyone who purchased these teacakes – pre-1998 – should also get a refund as they would have also paid the tax…..all it needs is for the customer to produce a reciept :):):)

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFO2466GB/07
Have you checked to make sure that the selector switch hasn’t gone back into the PCB upside down ? IIRC , the slector on the board will always be set to the 12 o’clock position so if the selector was not at the ‘off’ position when you removed it , its possible that it could have gone on wrong.
If the selector switch is out by 180* , the first position it points to anti-clockwise , 30*C easy care ( 11 o’clock position ) will actually be the rinse programme.
Sorry if you’ve already thought of this 😉

ParticipantIf its an intergrated product , could it be WFLI 2440 perhaps ?

ParticipantRe: footwear
I wouldn’t enter a customers premises without my safety boots on . If the customer asks me to remove them , i refuse but do offer to put on some overshoes ( glorified plastic bags ) . Because of my diabetes , i have to be very careful with my tootsies and thats why the wearing of safety boots is so important to me.
The boots supplied to us are called ‘Weltuff’ and the ones i have look like a walking boot . They’re actually very comfortable which is surprising as most of the safety footwear i’ve had previously were a pain to wear all day.
