If you start the DW and it starts at 199mins , how long do you leave it before you switch it off ?
I ask only because this could be the scenario :-
Low water levels would mean no heating so appliance goes to 199mins and never moves on because its not heating – HOWEVER – The next cycle may start on the same time as the previous cycle took , as they adjust themselves automatically . You may have cleared the fault by cleaning the water matrix but the machine will need to run to the heat cycle before it re-adjusts .
It may be worth sticking it on the Auto-cycle and letting it run through for 25-30mins and see what happens to the timer…..and to see if its heating

Is the water heating up ? Without checking the model number , i’m guessing it may be that its not heating and therefore not proceeding on with its programme

whats your response to the ‘ what about all my freezer food’ line?
do you just tell em to get lost or do you pay them for it, after all it is a design fault , so why should they pay?
if your gonna be all smart, at very least be sure that what you say is reasonable
sheesh
Mate , where did i say the word ‘demand’ ? A simple question to ask the customer and if they say they can’t do it then fair enough , i’d go in there and do the full defrost for them. I have never demanded a customer to do anything…..only suggested .
However , sometimes a pleasant word in the customers ear and , if possible , they find a suitable place to store their food , defrost the appliance for a time and its a lot quicker visit for both parties.nomadPaul
ParticipantRe: Bosch/Neff Not Emptying
Have you replaced the cover on the pump impellor ? This needs to be on for the pump to create the pressure to work . You may have cleared any blockage but need to replace the cover

ParticipantRe: Bosch sgs45e02gb/45
Its probably not heating – I think this is a model that adjusts the time of the wash dependant on a few factors – It will increase the time of the cycle to max if its not heating at all ( which is IIRC 199 mins ) – I would check the water levels and heater element . Low water levels will prevent heating operation

Its only 2 hours if you have to defrost the evaporator yourself…..much better to get the customer to defost the appliance 48hrs before you arrive – approx 40 mins then 🙂

Never seen RRR on any of our displays mate ( which doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist mind 😕 ) Will get a bettter idea when you get the full model number.

Participantyou may find blue flecks blocking the drain hole – these are paint flakes off the evaporator pipes – just remove as many of these from the drain hole as you can….if present

ParticipantRe: Bosch Fridge Freezer fault E-nr KGN34X60GB/01
you could try switching it off for 48hrs and then restarting it – This may get your F/F up and running again until Bosch can get out to have a look at it .

The range of applications that that technology/idea could be used for is immense. I think its fantastic 8)

ParticipantRe: Do you repair Induction hobs?
To be honest , they’re not that bad to work on once you’ve done a couple but like a lot of the electronic stuff , its normally board replacements as opposed to board repairs . They normally split into 3 boards – 2 power modules for either side and a control module for the whole unit . If its just two hotplates that fail , its normally the relevant power module . The thing to watch out for is the space below them . Any disruption of air flow or blocked fan on the underside can quite easily cause board failures and , as mentioned , it ain’t a cheap fix

If you look up onto the roof of the detergent drawer area , you should see some holes in the central channel ( may be 2 or 4 ) These are probably blocked and a way to attempt to clear them is with an electrical cable tie. You can push one of these into the holes to try and clear the blockage

ParticipantYesterday , i went to a call in South Woodham Ferrers for a dented freezer door replacement . Customer name was Barratt . Typed the postcode/address into my Sat Nav and off i went – Arrived at the street to be confronted by a new build of flats , with the site being a Barratt site . Ha!!! Sorted . So , found the site office and asked which flat needed the new freezer door , only to be met with blank stares .
“No idea what you’re talking about mate ”
Rang the customers contact number and the customer…Mr Barratt…. promptly told me that he could see me from the window of his flat….10yds away in the building opposite .nomadPaul
