Sounds like a seized compressor – can you hear a quiet buzzing/humming noise from compressor ? If yes , then its seized . TBH , prob not economical to repair 🙁

First things first. Does the pump run when you press the reset buttons ? i.e Can you hear it audibly or does it just make a very quiet humming sound ? If it just makes a quiet humming sound then it could be blocked .
If you’ve checked for blockages in the pump and its clear but still not turning then it could need a new pump .
If its making the correct noises but still not pumping out then its time to seek an internal blockage.
I would drain it with end of drain hose in a bucket and see what the flow rate is like . If its weak or non-existent , i would look at breaking the drain system down into sections , possibly disconnecting the water matrix , and run these pipes into a bucket/bowl to see if you can locate any obstructions.
Always power off if checking internals of course !!!

The pump can be located under the front lower panel mate . It has a seperate wash motor and drain pump – You will need to take off the lower front panel and the pump will be in front of you , just to the left of the sump.

There will always be some water left in the base (approx 750m) 😉

Blimey Martin , how deep is your dishwasher ? 😀

If you don’t want to remove to clean , you could try pushing a cable tie into the holes and ‘rodding’ them – This will hopefully clear any blockages but will only be a temporary fix to get you going again.

Ferg wrote:I have a Bosh Fridge Freezer KGV3120GB/03 whose compressor pump won’t seem to fire up. I’ve replaced the control module and whilst the compressor housing gets quite warm it won’t run and fridge / freezer stays warm. I’ve read a few threads on linking out the thermostat by joining wires 1 & 2 (or 1&3 depending on the thread) of the control module to bypass it. Can anyone offer any advice / confirmation as to which ones I need to link on this model?

The modification you’re talking about is used for a fault displaying slightly diferent symptons to what you’re describing . If you switch off your appliance for a few hours and then switch it back on , does the compressor fire up and does it get cold at all ? If it freezes for approx 18-24 hrs before warming up again , then the mod may work . If on switch on , the compressor doesn’t fire up or just clicks or hums very quietly , you may have a seized compressor .

First thing i would check is that the switch is not all gunged up . A build-up of muck can sometimes stop the switch from engaging properly even though it will initially switch on , it soon pops out

The initial fill would be for the pre-rinse – the second fill for the detergent side so Timdownings suggestion sounds spot on

If you purchased it less than two years ago and have proof of purchase , why not call out BSH appliance care ? Your machine has a 2 yr warranty

The customer who knows more than you about appliances and won’t even admit that you’re right even after you have proved , 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} , that the fault is as exactly as you’ve been trying to tell him for the past 30mins.

Brand new tabletop dishwasher – making loud squealing/howling noise – i suggested its because they’re using a full sized tablet in a small machine.

“I’ve been working on all sorts of appliances for 30yrs and i’ve not seen that before . I can’t see it being that . If that is the case , they should put it in the instruction book”

Me – ” well , they do . Look here , it says use a liquid or powder detergent and to use 1/2 or 1/3 of your usual amount”

    Customer ” No , i don’t think its that “

I then run the appliance sans detergent….no noise…Ta da !!!

Customer ” I’m not convinced its that. Our old machine worked fine without cutting the detergent levels down”

” One of our machines ?

“No . A different make….oh , and this one takes far too long – The book says 1hr 45 . I timed it and it went on for over 2 and a half hours “

    “where does it say 1hr 45 ?”

    ” in the book “

“no , thats approx 145mins….2 and a half hours”

” well , thats still too long. Our last one only took 60mins”

” Ok…try it with a lower detergent level and get back to us if it still howls”

    “I’m sure i’ll be in touch……”

And i’ve no doubt he will….for SOMETHING !!!

Had the usual DW and WM where the floors been laid AFTER the installation – one recently turned into a godsend for the customer as when they lifted their wooden flooring to allow removal of WM , they discovered the floor underneath sodden from a hidden water leak…..in the nick of time.
Also went to a customer who had to have all her recently painted , expensive coving removed from around the chimney top of her cooker hood – She’d got pretty narky at my advice and didn’t react any better when i returned and charged her for replacing a plug fuse !!!

If none of the elements are working , i’d start by looking at the temp limiter on the back – if this is open circuit , it will disconnect the live to all the elements

I’ve not had any faults with a dirty or faulty optical sensors myself – The only probs i’ve had with DW’s showing 199 mins have all been not-heating faults – either from low water levels or O/C heaters ( i answered another thread very recently for this exact fault and it was low water levels) – Not sure if the ‘2’ error would occur tbh – I tend to answer queries that i’ve had experience with personally , as i still see myself as a bit of a beginner .

Don’t think there’s any safety switch on the base panel on this model but i’ve been wrong before 🙂
