ParticipantRe: Repaircare ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately it’s the nature of the job, at least Repaircare are only keeping you for 28 days. I think we all have a few customers who blame us for ANY subsequent problem on the machine, even months after the first.
If I had a pound for every time I’d heard “Well, it was working fine before your engineer came out and touched it” I’d be rich .

You have to hold down or break off the clips and use extra screws to hold tub together.
Bit of a pig of a job to do but worth it for a Bosch.

ParticipantRe: Spider and Bearings AEG LAV62600 914003 091 00
Hi,
Got the same situation with a AEG 72630 PNC 914002096 – only listed as complete drum assy at almost £100 trade. According to AEG bearings are Front 25X52X15 and rear 30X62X16.
It has a carboran split tubs, anyone know if another spider would be compatible? Cheers.

ParticipantRe: Nothing to do……but.
I’ve given up on letting customers crack the whip. Had one landlord, very good customer, call me on Saturday and wanted someone out same day. Told her were too busy and would fit in Monday evening. She got into a strop, “I’m never using you again” etc. etc. Phoned back 15 minutes later to apologise and ask for appointment. Even got a £25 tip when I went out :).

Thread on Connect guarantee is here: –
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … t+warrantyDefinitely try and make it to the next meet in September – I know for those of us who are sole traders, it’s easy to see it as a days lost pay, but in reality the contacts and information you get at these meets is invaluable. Definitely stay over, though, you get much more out of it this way.
Plus those customers will always wait until Saturday/Monday!

Have ordered replacement motors for these before, they have changed the motor but the plug was the same, just different casing and brushes. Sounds like might have been a mix up somewhere.

Are you trying it with damp clothes in or not? Sensor dry programmes won’t work with an empty drum.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Went out to a Zanussi ZWF12070 today, loud noise and spots of grease on clothes. Told husband over the phone probably bearings & sealed tub so not worth repairing, but had a job a couple of doors down anyway so went by to check. Sure enough, tub wobbling all over the place & sealed tub nonsense. £132 trade for a new tub from Zanussi.
At this point the wife strode into the room and said, “I’ve been listening to what you say and I simply don’t believe you!”. Thinking she meant the price of the spare, I said, “I know it’s expensive but you’re replacing most of the machine blah blah”. “No, Zanussi are a good brand, they aren’t cheap and the bearings simply wouldn’t go so quickly”.
Somewhat dumbfounded, I showed how much the tub was moving around, pointed out these things are less than £300 new and that was a “cheap” machine. But she simply wasn’t having any of it!
Ended up telling her “Why did you bother calling an engineer if you didn’t want to know what was wrong with your machine?” and walking out. Absolutely mad! 😯

ParticipantRe: HYGENA APM8521 DRUM BEARING REPLACEMENT
A quick search would have found you this thread: –

It’s not difficult as bearings go but any bearing replacement has the potential to be a PITA, especially if the machine has been run for a prolonged time with damaged bearings, as this increases the likelihood of the bearings breaking up when removed, and the spider being damaged.
