Thanks Swerv, I tried it with the damper microswitch in the closed position and it did not shut off after the 59 seconds

Got it apart. It seems the front casting does not come off, you have to take the motor out to get at the fan.

I suppose this chap could be in cloud cuckoo land as he also showed me a photo of his nephew who plays for Arsenal and claimed to have another relative who is an associate director on the Harry Potter films :rolls: I would have thought he would remember having bearings done though as he reckoned he had changed them himself on an earlier Hotpoint.

Did a Hotpoint WMA bearing change and noticed that the bearings have already been changed before (marks around outside edge of rear bearing recess where a drift has been used at an angle). I mentioned this to the customer who says the machine was sold to him as new by a certain trader in Bishopmill, Elgin. This is the first repair he has had done on the machine. :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIL103 – possible replacement
With the machine you have now, the only way is up! If you do get a new one I would suggest you consider a Bosch.
It is worth taking the heater unit out of your machine and shining a torch into the tub to check for foreign objects. To remove the heater you take the back off the machine and slacken the central clamp nut then prise the black rubber seal away from the tub.Phidom

ParticipantRe: WMA34 Last Error Codes
Thanks for the replies but I’ve found what’s wrong. I removed the pressure switch and found a crack in the casing where the retaining clip meets the back face. I must have damaged it somohow 😥

Yes, getting back down the hill had it’s moments. Initially I was trying to roll down in first gear with my foot off the gas but the engine braking effect was too much for the icy surface and I just had to freewheel, picking up far too much speed. I then was looking for less icy stretches in which I could brake, reverting to freewheel on the glassy stretches.I

ParticipantRe: Etna Dishwasher circa 1987
Espares list parts for an Etna 8301 and that appears to be a Whirlpool machine. I have the Sios discs but I think you can only get it to work if you know the exact full model number. I’ve never found a way of getting a list of models to choose from.

ParticipantRe: Homark Torq Screws
Most car accessory shops sell a set of tamper proof bits that should include the one you need.

ParticipantRe: Fan Oven causing switch to trip.
You need to get the oven out, take the back off and look for any wires that may have come adrift. Sometimes the element spade terminals can short against the back panel so you might need to bend them inward slightly.
