PCB fault. It’ll be the 1uf or 1.5uf capacitor (approx 1 1/4″ length next to the relay). Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick response Martin. I did think it may be something like you say but was a bit stumped how the machine had started working again. I tried the machine with the motor disconnected but it made no difference.

I’ve always had trouble with these. Just pack two rubber washers where the leak is. (usually the inlet side).

    Re: de-bore glue

I normally use the nearest thing to hand. A good spray of WD40 to get the bulk of it off. That’s if you’re lucky enough to spot it while it’s still sticky. The rest normally brushes off when it’s dry.

Worth checking connections to motor plug. They may look ok, but give each wire a good tug. Hope it works for you.

Hi, I’ve one with similar problem. Power getting to machine. Turn selector switch to a program, machine is totally dead. Wait and wait :rolls: and wait, then control panel comes to life with an obvious relay click. Press start and all is well. After 5-10 minutes, it all cuts out with no lights or display again. Sometimes it will come back to life after only a couple of seconds of cutting out, then pressing start button begins the program from the begining again. This process repeats over and over. Suspect pcb but at £225, it’s a non starter. Has anyone traced the component that causes this fault.

I’m with talktalk :rotl: phone and broadband. For an extra £5 a month, you get 1000 minutes of free mobile calls a month.
