ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FDF780
Thanks to Jim I went to this armed with the info. It is the same as the impeller jug system but the mini pcb is fixed into the matrix so can’t be repaired but the complete unit isn’t too expensive at around £16.
Amazing a how a bit of info helps with the job.
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Is this job worth it ??
Blimey,
Someone has read my mind.
Been feeling this way for about 6 months. Have had a few knee problems driving so have had to curtail one WP.
I am saving about £100 a month on fuel and have increased my average invoice by around £15 so I’m doing less work for the same money and feeling less bored but after 28 years the fun has gone. We often don’t repair as much as parts swap and how often do we think “just fitted that, how long a guarantee should I give ’cause I don’t trust it”.
I usually make decisions on the spur of the moment, like buying this house so I can see me getting up one morning and saying “I’ve had enough” 60 now and not sure if I can afford it but getting very very close.

Thanks,
I couldn’t get that model to appear. Don’t know whether to go out to it or just tell him. 😉

ParticipantRe: how much to run an average dryer
But of course it cycles so would be a bit less than that 8)

But Apple,
Doncha know they don’t repair, just give estimates and install new machines 😆
Rip off merchants, seen them do it and had to pick up the pieces afterwards.
Scum of this trade and no mistake

I went to a fairly new one Friday and the hoses supplied have brass couplings but I have seen them with standard hoses fitted.

ParticipantRe: Connect Guarantee
robbra wrote:Just had an AEG dryer heater go after fitting it in January. Connect not interested as past 90 days so sent a email to AEG as it’s a genuine part more out of hope than anything else.
£60.69 +VAT it cost so really pi$$ed off with Connect and they won’t get the replacement order from me and maybe not much else that’s electrical.
Rob 👿Both me and the customer have spoken to Distriparts and anything genuine they manufacture is guaranteed for 12 months. They want Connect to confirm the DOP and can then help, but will Connect play ball/
If they do a 12 month guarantee why don’t Connect give it too.
They have already lost £450 of orders from me in 3 weeks. Doubt they will care though.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool 3RLSQ8033SWO Tub loose
Thanks John,
I have printed it off and will go back and get it stripped down. This pub only paid £220 from Makro so they’re saying they might scrap it. We’ll see. Thanks for all that help as I’m sure these are going to keep coming to me.Nigel,
This one feels really sloppy and not like others so I’ll strip it.Will let you know what happens.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool 3RLSQ8033SWO Tub loose
Went back for a further look.
All three springs are attached to both the tub and the tripod support. One spring from the tub to the case.
There are 2 plastic pods with loose pins in under the tripod. Should these be fitted to anything?
If I am underneath and push up the motor at the front the drum will tip. so it looks like the whole drum needs to be secured but I can’t see how.
Has anyone an exploded view?
Thanks
