    Re: Baumatic fan oven element?

That’s a coincidence. The one I fitted only lasted around 15-16 months as well. I did fit another ZN1421 and we’ll have to see how long it lasts this time… MP hardly ever seem to have the original in stock though….

Re: Smeg oven – top element

It certainly sounds like the element has had it.

    Part number is probably 806890482.

A quick e-mail to the shop@ (on left hand side) should be able to confirm part number and give you a reasonable price.

What ever you try, always unplug/turn off at mains or isolator.

If you’re not sureyou can always get a professional from repairs@

    Good luck

Merry Christmas to all. Been my busiest 3 weeks for years. Finished this evening only to get home to an “urgent call” from a regular customer….. Dug deep and went out to him… to find a Hotpoint WM brush job… there is a god after all, glad I went.

The bottle of Christmas port, biscuits and niblies have been opened and the festivities are begining….. bring on the food…. hic

    Re: Another joke.

A lady walked into a Police Station and the desk Sergeant
    said “Can I help you?”
“Yes” she said, “I’d like to report a case of sexual assault”.
“Where did it happen?” the Sergeant asked.
“In the park just down the road” she replied.
    “Can you describe what happened?”
“Yes, I was walking along the footpath in the park near
the trees when a man jumped out of the
bushes and dragged me in there, removed my underwear then
he dropped his pants to his knees
and had his way with me”.
“Could you give me a description of him?”
“Yes, he was wearing white shoes, long white trousers, a
white shirt and he had these two big
long pads from his feet up to and over his knees, one on
    each leg”.
“Sounds to me like he was a cricketer, most probably a
    batsman”, said the Sergeant.
“Yes”, said the lady, “He was an Aussie Cricketer”.
“That’s very observant”, said the Sergeant, “You worked
    that out from his accent?”
“No”, she replied. “I worked it out because he wasn’t in
    for very long”.

I agree a very useful site that I have frequented and used many times before. Time to contact our insurers to see what they say (Zurich).

Re: Most valuable find in a pump filter yet?

I found a twenty pound note in a filter once but the customers teenage son happened to see it as it came out of the filter. He took the money and said with a wry smile on his face “I’ll make sure my dad get’s that”….. yes ok. Got my own back and wrote details on the job sheet after he’s signed it and left it on the side for his dad.

A collegue found a large thick gold chain and pocketed it. And he was an “honest” special constable at the time. Thieving git.

    Thanks Mike,

Thought it might be that motor, you just confirmed my thoughts and thanks for the element number.

I could buy the motor for a certain “E” trader, a snip at £160.00 Think not. Now to try and find some patterns to fit.

    Enjoy the snow

Re: spout on servis door gasket

I do these on a reasonably regular basis – two blocks of flats with one in each. I haven’t had a PLI claim yet and don’t intend to. For the sake of an extra couple of minutes, not worth the hastle. Also, the last batch of seals I’ve used the rim around the spout was not as large as the original and doesn’t feel as though it would hold by itself.

I’ve no doubt it would be fine without debor and respect your choice not to use it. I’m just a bit of worrier and like to sleep at night. 😉

    Alternative to winter tyres:???

    http://bit.ly/gKztEo

    Are winter tyres worth it??

    http://bit.ly/ihkfdN

And it will only be a matter of time that insurance companies lobby to get the law changed like this:

    http://bit.ly/f7dCXX

Having had one of my busiest days for a long time, it was made much harder by the extreme weather. Particularly difficult using the sack trolley to move the new fridge to a block of flats with no road near by….. and two flights of steps as well.

Made all the better by the last minute fan element job that I managed to squeeze in while dropping my daughter off at a friends house about 10 miles away… worth the trip
