If I remove the cover from a cooker point and test the built in cooker from there how do I stand legally if I’m not a qualified electrician or part P registered? 😕

It’s not a problem. According to a knowledgable person on a recent thread
    [ http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … &start=435] page 30
we can replace a socket outlet or cooker switch, but we can’t move it.

Did you blow into the pressure switch as well to make sure it was working?

If you don’t want to remove it from its housing, remove the circuit breaker or fuse in the consumer unit, switch it off at the wall switch and test it from there. I’d say 1Megohm would be the minimum value you’d be looking for.

The electronics should withstand a 500V test, probably also 1000V.

I’d check for broken wires at all the components first. I’ve had this a couple of times recently and odd symptoms show up. For instance a broken heater wire on a ZWF1211W caused over-filling. Can you credit that? had me scratching my head for ages until somebody told me about it.

Got to the bottom of this one eventually; it was a thermistor problem. I disconnected the thermistors from the board and it has been running ok ever since.

No, unfortunately you can’t copy or print the diagrams off the CD; I tried.

From the exploded view it looks as if there are 2 screw holes either side of the steel rear fascia panel. There’s no indication of how the glass is secured to the rear fascia panel; possibly by clips that lever out, or brackets glued to it that are screwed through into the side holes.

Thanks Chris. The machine does have a BSH type E number but doesn’t look anything like a Bosch machine. I thought that was just co-incidence.

It must be there. Is it covered in soap powder?

I was under the impression that you had to be registered for Part P to change socket outlets, or am I wrong? Haven’t yet checked whether my liability policy allows it .

Looking forward to seeing your version at the September meeting Jim 😯

Sadly the September meeting may coincide with my fourth cruise in the last 13 months, can’t make my mind up if this cruising lark is really for me. 😆

Off on RCCL’s Independence of the Seas again round the Med. 8)

Just found out that NCL’s new ship has a squash court on board, I think I may have to have a bit of that. 😀

    Sailor Jim.

I presume you’ll be wearing ‘roly16 attire’ as you call it on that ship though?

Fourth cruise in 13 months? Obviously been selling a lot of ISE machines recently Jim 😆
