    Re: Parts Center Website

I can get access to plumbing spares but can’t seem to find appliance spares at all. Have got to phone them tomorrow to find out what’s going on.

    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting 5

    Hi Ken,
I am able to come to the meeting and would be grateful if you could book a room for me for Thurs & Fri nights, and lunch on Friday if there’s still space available. I’ve been trying to find the details of the hotel somewhere on the website; I’m sure it must be here somewhere but I can’t find it. Please can you let me know.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

That sersil1 sealant is only rated up to 230degrees. The one I use is Ambersil 1008A Engineering Adhesive Sealant which is rated to 300degrees and I’ve never had one fail. I get it from a local Qualtex supplier but I don’t know if it’s a Qualtex part. I can find out if anyone’s interested. It’s expensive at about £10 for a 75ml tube.

    Re: 0870 Phone Numbers

UKW is an example of a legitimate use of an 0870 number as it’s offering a free advice service to the public and trade and run by volunteers.
Electrue making it’s account customers use one when phoning up to place orders is just sheer greed. Actually I didn’t realise that they’d changed over to 0870 numbers till I read these replies as I’ve always had the ordinary ones programmed into my phone.

A Only one but the light bulb really has to want to change.

Phidom, have you checked the drain hose for blockages either in the hose or where it fits onto the sink drain spigot? I’ve had lumps of butter or fat solidifying in the drain hose before now.

Yes, they really are that stupid. There are a lot of these machines around now, The Tecnik 9260/9290, the Homark ones and no doubt a lot of other labels as well. Ah well, at least I’ve cheered somebody up today.

    Re: Tecnik TKL925.

    hi Chris,
Is this the sump hose with the white plastic collar that holds the top end of the hose in the outer tub? The collar obviously pushes into the hose from the inside of the tub during manufacture. I’ve not succeeded in getting the collar back in. The first one I did I left the collar out and debored the hose in place but it didn’t work. I was a Caremaik agent then & they changed the machine. On a recent one the hose was holed half way down so I cut it in half and joined the two halves using a plastic tube and jubilee clips. I don’t know anyone who’s managed to re-fit the original collar. If I got this job again & couldn’t do it as just described I’d turn it down.
    Best of luck,
    Geoff

Well done Martin! Happy outcome for everyone. Lucky you didn’t buy a new board. It shows that it’s always worth looking for dry joints with this sort of problem but it can be time consuming. How many customers want to pay a full labour charge for the time you spend doing that if you don’t find anything at the end of the day/

Ah well, you can’t win them all as the saying goes. At least you’ve learnt something in the process.
