It depends on the age and condition of the fridge.

You would also need to test the defrost heater and check to see if the defrost drain from the freezer is not blocked as it may be blocked not allowing the water to drain away.

I would check the drain first before replacing any parts.

Empty the fridge and freezer and get someone to store your food.

Turn the complete unit off and leave the doors open for 48 hours / 2 Days to allow it to defrost.

When you turn it back on it should be ok after 2 to 4 hours.

If the problem returns in 2 to 4 weeks then you have a problem with the defrost system.

    Re: Samsung RSH7ZNRS advice

Samsung are expensive for there Labour and it may be cheaper to get an independent engineer.

It sounds like a system fault. Compressor or Gas.

Not a DIY repair and you need someone familiar with Samsung Appliances.

As the liner is cracked I would say it has other problems with the defrost system overheating and cracking the liner.

You may be better off saving. Your money and putting it towards another fridge freezer as the RSH7 was not the most reliable of American fridge freezers In my opinion. But Samsung fridge freezers did keep me in business before I retired.

Re: Hot Point Fridge Freezer FFM70A unable to run compressor

As Ken said if it buzzes then makes a clicking noise the compressor is faulty as it is drawing to much power or seized.

This would not be a DIY repair.

If you get a problem with the start capacitor klixon then you would not get the buzzing noise before the click.

So I would not waste your time and money trying to fix it.

You need to get someone to check to see if you have voltage reaching the compressor.

It may just be a relay on the compressor.

If no voltage at the compressor then it may be a faulty new pcb.

Try opening the doors to see if you can hear the compressor run or check to see if the compressor is Hot.

I the compressor is hot then it is a compressor fault.

Re: PCB code not working Admiral maytag F/F

Unless you manage to store a code it will not run.

If you have stored a code and the fans run but not the compressor then it may be a relay or compressor fault.

If it does not make any noise at all and the codes are stored then it may be a faulty new PCB.

Try opening the doors to see if you can here the compressor start.

Try the default code of 05 if this does not work then 15.

In most cases 05 works 28 would only work if you have the same jazz board number on the PCB.

I thought it was a Hotpoint or Creda as they use the same element and fan on a lot of there models.

You run the risk with any modern frost free fridge freezer now a days.

This also applies to any modern appliance.

I have seen many PCB,s that have shorted out due to condensation and melting the cabinets, but most just stop working before they go up in flames.

    This is across all makes.

The trouble is mixed with R600a you have a ticking time bomb.

That is why Mercedes Benz are refusing to use R600a in there air conditioning despite pressure from the EU.

The only way to avoid it is to go back to basics with standard stats and non ozone friendly refrigerants, but that is not going to happen as it is not what Consumers, Governments or Friends of the Earth wants.

Re: I think your element may be at fault.

Sometimes an intermittent fan fault can cause this.

When the fan gets hot it can slow down or seize.

Was this on a Hotpoint ?

I bet you were in your Element Jim,

    Re: FRIDGE DRAIN HOLE

The condenser is the big grill at the back normally held on with 4 to 6 screws you should be able to remove the screws on one side to gain access to the pipe.

Go carefull not to put to much stress on the pipework.

Not as difficult as it sounds to repair.

    Re: FRIDGE DRAIN HOLE

If is an old Electrolux then it should have an external drain pipe behind the condenser pipework.
If you loosen the condenser pipe work then remove the pipe you should be able to clear the pipe under the tap in your sink or from a hosepipe in the garden.

Re: Bush BFFF60185 Fridge Not Working Right

As Ken said it is most likely low on Gas or the compressor faulty.

Better to save the money for a repair and put it towards a new one.
