If the rs21 has an ice maker the most likly fault is the sensor under the ice tray the wires break with constant twisting you can replace the sensor or solder the wires together if it is broken make sure you turn the power off first. if you rejoin the broken wires when you turn it back on everthing will spring back into life.

I had a discusion with a rep from gas safe at the uk whitegoods meeting and his advice was the last person to work on a duel fuel appliance is responsible as a gas safety check should be carried out.
As you do not know if the appliance has a leak before you carry out any work the only way you can legaly repair it is if you get the customer to disconnect it from the gas mains and repair it then advise in writing on the receipt that the customer needs to arrange to have a gas safe engineer to carry out a safty check.
At the end of the day it is not worth taking a risk as if any problems arise the penalty is high.Re: Diplomat APM6855 F/Freezer
The freezer evaporator will be frosted up.
The fault is normaly the no frost evaporator probe faulty and you will need to fit a new one.
On this model when you open the doors the fan stops you can check the fan with a magnet by the sensors.
The fan sensor in the freezer is on the right hand side half way down near the middle draw. make sure the fridge door is shut to test.
The fan sensor is near the display for the fridge you can check the air flow to the fridge when the door is closed on the freezer. If you look at the fridge door you will see a small block on the top of the door a magnet is inside so if you close the door slightly this will give you some idea where the sensor is near the top.Re: Another joke.

This will be an auto defrost fault.
Turn off the fridge freezer and open the doors to allow it to defrost for 48 hours. When you turn it back on it should work ok and be back to normal in 2 to 4 hours.
If the problem returns within a couple of weeks the you will need an engineer to call to repair the defrost system.Re: Whirlpool American fridge freezer power problem trips RC
Yes the most likly fault would be the defrost heater element.

The fridge evaporator sensor on a liebherr can sometimes fail due to water leaking into the sensor.
You can purchase a fridge evaporator sensor kit from liebherr.
It comes with the instructions how to fit. You no longer have to take the sensor back to the pcb/ Module and comes supplied with a connector to join the new sensor to the old sensor wireing.This is the most likly fault with temporature problems.Re: F gas Certification
HC Refrigerants do not come under the F gas regs R600a R290.
But anyone working with refrigerant should have the minimum new C&G 2079 cat 4 as this covers inspection only to identify what refrigerant is used.
There is still a few R134a appliances about and the older American fridge freezers are still worth repairing.
Some people have matching appliances and still want R134a repaired.
Domestics will come under cat 2 as less than 3kg in the system.
If anyone is paying for training then you may as well take cat 1 as most course’s charge the same for cat 1 or 2.
I have just taken the cat 1 its not easy and I would say you need the 3 day course to pass it.
If you take the cat 1 then you can always work on anything if you get asked without any worrys. Why limit yourself to domestics when you can pick up the odd cold room or pub cellar cooling with higer returns.Plus you can pick up lots of work on bottle coolers e.g. COKE display cabinets in small shops and newsagents.
No harder to repair than a domestic.

As Ken said the timer is a common fault on the Beko and it pays to replace the bi metal heater stat at the same time.
The good news is it is not an electronic timer so not as expensive to replace.
A temporary fix can last upto 2 to 3 weeks is to turn of for 48 hours with the doors open to defrost.Re: Diplomat APM6855
There is no drain hole in the fridge on this model as it is not a wet wall fridge.
The fridge takes the cold air from the freezer to cool it down.
The drain hole in the freezer can only be accesed by dismantling the back panel in the freezer compartment but this is not a DIY job hence it is best to turn off to defrost it with the doors open for the minimum 48 hours.

If you get stuck on this one and dont want to visit this customer you can always say you will send in another company to have an independant report done for you and you can then decide what you are going to do.
I dont mind doing a free of charge call to help you out and would tell the customer I am unable to comment on my findings as I am doing an indipendent report for you.
I would let you now the findings and report back to you.
So if you get stuck let me know.
Thursday next week I am fully booked but could fit it in most other days.

This will be an iced up drian hole in the freezer.
It is best not to dismatle your self with out repair Knowledge.If you can get someone to look after your food for a couple of days. Turn of the fridge freezer for 48 hours and leave the doors open to allow it to thaw out.
If the problem returns the the no frost prob may be on its way out not allowing the the freezer to fully defrost.

Plus plenty of sheep for some of the engineers.
As long as there is a local Dominos Pizza for them.
As long as I get enough notice Friday Saturday any day and place the meetings are worth going to even for the social side of it.
And you always gain something from them.😆
