To be sure – to be sure is the Oirish answer to that.

Solenoids are in sequence on some, one after the other, if anything was to get trapped in seal seating & allow water to flow through the other solenoid should stop it.

Answer is there in your post.. its in an automatic programme.
    Either no clothes in drum,
or clothes in drum dry enough
or problem with sensor, worst case scenario PCB

It will flash if motor is disconnected, PCB sends down a signal to motor to turn & if it gets no tacho signal back inside a few seconds it shows fault.

PCBs do cause this fault too, its quite common in them, moisture or steamy athmosphere in rooms where appliance is housed can cause problems, worth checking that too.
Sometimes a hairdryer on low heat can do the trick.

Re: Miele G540, not heating water

Again I would point you towards the pressure switch problem, if you understand that the heater will not be brought into play until enough pressure is acheived by circulation pump ( thus making pressure sw’ contacts ) if you read & understand the circuit diagram you will see what i mean.

    So check
    A. that there is enough water filing into machine, check fill hose filters
    B. that there are no blockage in circulation pump, check pump impellor
    C. failing all this, check heater for continuity, should read 20 ohms approx
    D. Klixons are thermostats, liniter is most likely a re-settable one (that needs pushed in to re-set)

Undo hex screws, back plate of drum comes off, you will then get access to heater, not a difficult repair to be honest.

Miele have the same set up in their modern dishwashers, must be a German craze to fit them in the pump of the circulation motor. I think the elements have too high wattage for such a confined space & can see them failing a lot.

Most likely pressure switch not achieving enough pressure therefore not switching on heater. Things you can check, that filter in sump is clear & clean, also that water inlet hose is not kinked or (filter in water inlet hose) is not blocked.

Ask the customer for the User Manual (look at page 17).

Machine runs automatic to programme selected.
If no clothes in drum or dry clothes in drum conductivity sensors will switch off.
Select timed programme instead of auto dry programme if you are testing.

Pressure vessel (chamber with small bore hose coming from it to pressure switch) is likely to be blocked. Or pressure hose pipe damaged.

Two solenoid valves are in series, if one fails (stays open) you still have a second one to shut off water supply.
