Yeah, the paddles (which are insulated) inside the drum are electrically measured between them & the drum itself this measures how much moisture is in clothes & switches heater accordingly. A brush set runs on the slipring which you can see if you take off top of machine.

Make sure you test it on “timed drying” as most of these will only heat for a few minutes (in auto) only if they sense the clothes are still damp. Check that the sensors (paddles) in drum are clean. These if they are covered in dirt & dust prevent the heater coming on in auto’ programmes. If you take off the top you will see a carbon brush running on a slip-ring. The contacts of the paddles on outside of drum should be checked & cleaned if necessary.
Thermostats beside heater would be my first thought to check & for blockages.

There should be a circuit diagram in every Miele appliance. Thermostats open door interlock in case of blockage to prevent overheating. Check ‘stats mounted above heater.

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP8322
Seeing as we’re on Diplomat D’Ws i’ve been to one today an ADP8352 that will only show P0 on display, won’t reset to any other program. Is it a dodgy electronic or any other ideas ?

Very straightforward to change the heater on a Miele, theres a bracket pushed onto the grommet that holds it in place. Everything pulls out from the front. Be careful that you put in the correct element as they are available in different wattages & voltages.

Likely to have to clear fault codes in service mode.
Just check the cabling to p.c.b just in case theres a bad connection.Seamy
ParticipantRe: Miele W842
Faulty electronic maybe, but check cable loom, plug connections to motor etc, also excess carbon dust on motor sometimes causes this fault.

Likely to be duff board if motor checks out ok.

Open or short circuit in NTC or its connector…at 20 degrees it should read 14K approx, fault is F3 & is saved. Can be element, relay, control module or power module fault causing it either. There should be a circuit diagram with the machine to help you check the circuit.

Any recommendation for AMP connectors, part num’s etc, i find a lot of the red & blue ones failing also.
