Can we not put the software on a fileshare website like BitTorrent or something like that (anonymously of course) for people who could avail of it to share? I find I work on more & more of those Indesit & Hotpoint machines and I send away work every day that i could do myself if I had the correct software on my laptop ant the hardware key.

Yeah I had the condom removal also last year, the lady of the house was there, her hubby & her teenage son, I said nothing but used long nose pliers to remove it.
Also I removed 2 holy medals, 2 screw nails, a bank card & loads of coins and a bra underwire from a PRIESTS washing machine once.. didn’t say anything to him either :rolls:

There is something called ” Boost Control ” on that range I think I remember. Does it perhaps use both sets of elements to preheat oven for a period?

Yeah, like he says likely to be worn brushes, easy peasy, take off front panel, i normally tip machine back a litle, take motor “module” (end cap)off you should then see brushes, if worn replace, clean armature.
    Careful locating pins when re-assembling.

I once went to a washing machine Bendix I think & the guy before me had cut the complete side out of it with an angle grinder, removed the tub, did a bearing replacement job put it back together, welded side panel back on with arc welder (blew holes all through it). Painted it up & charged custemer £40. I removed coin from pump & was lambasted for charging £40…

Re: Domestic Appliance Horror Stories ?

An Irate old pensioner locked me in when I told I would have to charge him for repair to a Hotpoint washer (it was over 1 year but still inside 5 years old).
I eventually got him to speak to the manager of the shop where he bought it, who arranged a visit from Hotpoint.
Wonder if that engineer survived the ordeal..
