ParticipantRe: Zanussi TC481W Door catch broken
Is this an old machine?
Modern machines made by Zanussi including TC481 have a door mechanisn where you press door to close & press door again to release, they should also pull open if you use pressure.Seamy

Best of luck to you in your indeavours.
The salt level indicators normally operate with a float switch inside the salt resevoir which has a magnet attached, this operates a reed switch attached to outside the tank. When the salt level is low the float drops, when there is a lot of salt in water it floats up.
Regeneration takes place at end of wash, by a solenoid valve opening & allowing in water in to regeneration tank, this water enters & is stored as a saline solution, but is not used until next wash starts.Seamy
ParticipantRe: AEG Lavamat Motor spare part question
Did you clean the armature of the motor when you changed the brushes?
If the armature is black with carbon dust or even damaged by the previous worn out brushes it may not work too well.Seamy
ParticipantRe: Beko WM6355 Start & Wash Flashing
I have put P.C.Bs in a few, but before you order one check that the plugs are fully onto connectors of P.C.B.
Have you checked diagnostics for any fault codes?Seamy
ParticipantRe: beko cda660
Electronic P.C.Bs gave problems on these Bekos with them losing timing & not coming on after defrost.

Take a look into the top oven cavity, theres a similar clip in it.
Normally they are mounted across rear of oven in high position, clipped to top of back cover of oven element.Seamy

ParticipantRe: lux ENN26800
Known problems are fan running slow or seized, flap sticking closed, door switch magnet missing or not activating switch therfore fan not always coming on.
Overfrosting due to defrost heater open circuit. There is a service mode to run & check all components.

ParticipantRe: WD640 not drying
Most likely heater of t.o.c at fault. Test with multimeter & you should’nt have to order parts that you won’t need. 😉

Check the usual, motor brushes, wiring to motor & plug connections on p.c.b , tacho, etc.

ParticipantRe: Premature Bearing Failure
My thoughts are that the appliance manufacturers have increased the load capacity & spin speed without putting in signicantly larger bearings.
Overdosing of detergent using low temp’ washes & shorter wash times with only one rinse which doesn’t get rid of all the soapy water will lead to the seals going hard, cracking & leaking.
Once a few drops of water ingress in past seal, the rust begins.October 11, 2012 at 6:58 am in reply to: Whirlpool AWM 1000 – Does not appear to start cycle #382751Seamy
