Sorry Guys, but you are advicing on how the instantaneouse water heater be remove/replace the wrong way. The way you have described is the way Hotpoint teaches, as a former BSH engineer, the easiest way is to turn the appliance upside down. Please dont say it is the wront way but i have replaced these elements within 20min tops. Undo the 2-screws at the back and the 2- at the front. Remove the tesion spring cord away, then pull the base away. Well if all this is too much go for the easiest.

I suppose you are taking all this in, but have a look at the left side fill chamber, remove the black rubber, you have two options, one goes to the drainage, the other from the pump. Take second option first, ie from pump, put the little hose into container or what ever, set machine to drain, if ok the the blockage is at the other side etc etc etc………etc

Dear All,
I have removed the motor from the appliance and run it on its own, same problem, motor runs then the motor switch makes, trying to connnect the start windings. What i have noticed is, the rotor is very stiff to turn which causes the run speed to drop, causing this problem. will check spares@ if it is available. £145.00 from whirlpool.

Hi, as far as i can remenber, the bulb is replaced from the top, ie remove the lid and or facia. or to be certain, poke your head inside the drum, check if the lenz is held by screws, then that will be changeable from inside the drum. Either way it is not so difficult.

Hi, i assume the bottom condenser is clear, what is the current drawn, if it is half heat say b/n 5-6amps and you have replaced the heater box then the fault will be with the pcb.

Hi, is it the ralay inside the motor, or there is another one somewhere. i have the diagram and the only ralay i can see is the one inside the motor, i think.
