Also check the connectors where the wires attach to the control PCB, they can often go faulty. Pay careful attention to the wiring where it is attached to chassis points for breakage, as Iadom has said Neon mainstesters can be dangerous to use & should be avoided.

I must be going blind, I totally missed the bit about testing with Flying leads. Jim is totally correct there is absolutely no need to test Live, all Electrical items within an appliance can be Tested using a Multimeter and or Megger.

    Re: Live testing

No mate, it was a question after a conversation with another “engineer” for want of a better description after seeing him with 1 of these little cheapy pocket Analogues & commenting on the Dangers of useing this type of meter for Live testing on mains appliances. I was assured by him that no 1 does this anymore as it’s illegal & just as quick to go through a machine doing continuity tests. NOW I KNOW IT’S NOT ILLEGAL & I also know it’s nowhere near as quick to carry out Continuity / Resistance tests on everything to find a fault. I just wondered how many people are of the same opinion.

Thanks for the lesson in what a Thermal switch is, but after over 30 years in the Electrical / Appliance industry it really was’nt nescessary.

Have you checked the heater element? it may be leaky to Earth. You can carry out a basic check with a good Multimeter but ideally you need a 500 volt insulation tester to do it properly. Also if it’s an Electronic model it’s possible for the control pcb to have popped.

PLEASE REMEMBER POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE TESTING, Being :zap: can seriously ruin your day.

If you click on shop@ on the L/H side of the page, then Cooker parts, then Electrolux & have a look at part number: 8996619267611 Oven cooling fan control.
This may be the part your looking for.

If i were you I would definately ask them to collect the item & give you a full re-fund as soon as possible. If they don’t give you any joy then mention your County Trading standards office to them, that will usually do the trick.

To be fair to the staff at UKWG the element is listed for the KD3E1EW & should be the same for yours, obviously without a picture they have no way of comparing the shape or Terminal positions. When you say its totally the wrong shape please explain & is it definately the lower base element you need?

Re: HOOVER OPH714 Error code E07.

Hi: E07 is listed as a faulty door interlock switch or Jammed motor, please remember:

POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE CHECKING. Getting :zap: can seriously spoil your day.

If you don’t have the equipment or knowledge to safely check your machine, please call a good local engineer. You could try the UKWG repairs@ faciltiy to find an engineer local to you.

Hi: Sorry to have to tell you this but it appears from the number you gave that you’ve ordered the wrong element for your cooker.
Your cooker model is not listed for this element, also if you look at the picture it shows that the Terminals on this element are on the ends. My best advice would be to contact UKWG shop and ask what the correct element is for your model, explain the mistake to them & hope they will take the element back for re-fund against the replacement.

Re: Smeg Dishwasher DWF612BL not working…

If you follow the drain outlet hose into the machine you will go straight to the pump, you will need to have a bowl to hand to catch any water left in the machine. If you remove the outlet hose & look into the pump you can see the impellor, use a small screwdriver to gently turn the blades. If they turn easily then the pump is not jammed if they are tight then you have probably found your fault.

Please remember: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT FIRST, being :zap: can seriously spoil an otherwise perfect day.

Hi: How long did you leave the freezer after it was delivered & before plugging it in? Most companies advise at least 12 hours.
Sorry I can’t give you any advice on the other 2 brands but i’ve never seen either, Beko also sell some quite good value small freezers.
