    Re: Baumatic B720SS overheating

Hi Stu: Thanks for getting back to us with what Baumatic have said, they say you learn something new every day & that’s certainly true in this case. Personally I don’t like the idea but if they fit it & they certify it as safe then any comebacks are on them.

    Regards: Andy.

    Re: Baumatic B720SS overheating

Hi: It could well be that your Thermostat has now failed as well, but what concerns me is the Element, I have NEVER in 19 years in the trade known a Manufacturer to increase an Elements wattage in an appliance by 1000 watts. It is more likely that you have been supplied with the wrong element for your Model, having said this I have checked 6 different sites & not 1 lists a 1500watt element for your cooker. Did you give your supplier the full Model number & Serial Number when ordering? Please do not use the oven until this is sorted out.
If you are in any doubt Please call an Engineer. You could also check with Baumatic themselves.

PLEASE REMEMBER POWER OFF BEFORE OPENING YOUR APPLIANCE.

Hi: I don’t actually know these machines but does the fuse just melt or does it blow violently i.e blackened, if the fuse melts then you have an overload rather than a short. What does the fuse feed? is it by any chance on an Electronic control board.

Re: Prob with my AEG B5741-4

Ouch, that’s a bit nasty. Looks like you need a new PCB & a lot of wiring repairs & that is not a DIY repair job. As for price the only 1 really who can tell you that is the Engineer doing the job, all Engineers have different prices & the board may well be expensive.
Take a look at the repairs@ link for Engineers local to you, sorry we can’t go any further with information but the repair really does have to be done & tested properly.
Problem appears to be as I said in my previous reply, only this one has caused quite a bad burn up.

Probably not actually made by Kenwood, but badge engineered stock.
You would need to email their spares dept to find out.

Hi: If you look at the STICKY posted at the beginning of this help section it gives the Web address for Kenwood. 🙂

Re: Prob with my AEG B5741-4

Hi: This could be due to a known problem with the edge connectors on the Electronic board. These can loosen off over time due to heating & cooling and can burn Causing the same sort of problem. If this is the problem it can usually be repaired by fitting new crimp connectors to the wires, if you don’t feel confident about Electrical repairs & your ability to make good & sound crimp connections please call an Engineer.

PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOU LOOK AT THIS YOURSELF TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE COOKER AT THE CONNECTION UNIT OR COOKER BOX.

Re: think it may finally be dead,

Confuscious he say: If bad connection, machine she no work & 1 thing we all do in the trade is clean and re-tension edge connectors when we have weird faults like this, surprising how often this can cure a fault.
Congratulations & I hope it keeps working for you, if not please post again & we will do our best to help.

    Andy.

Please Remember when working on your machine: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT. 🙂

Was the machine plugged in & turned on at the socket when you did this?

Listen to Hello mate he’s spot on: 2 stats above heater, then they are as he says. 3 above heater you have 1 x cycling, 1 x NTC & 1 x safety.
Yes that’s what NTC means, but he already knows that, he’s an Engineer & from what I know of him a pretty skilled one.

Re: Candy C1260 – new drain pump needed

Hi: Looking at the spares shop there are 2 different pumps listed for your machine. If you email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk giving the serial No as well if possible, Dave will be able to tell you which 1 you need & supply it at a good price.

Sorry did I take your post regarding Triacs the wrong way, it didn’t appear to be a question, I don’t see anywhere where you have been ridiculed. I was trying to get you to give us a straight answer as you seemed to be giving different fault explanations each time of what was going on, as for ‘If you can’t do it teach it’: I do it everyday on both Commercial & Domestic equipment.

Totally agree with Spimps, unfortunately most sparkies don’t realise that Elements will soak up damp if left in an unheated area.
