presume it’s still a case of buying hard copy for individual machines from Hotpoint then.

Is there a supply to the compressor? does the condenser fan near the compressor run?

Switch off for 24 hours to make sure no frost blockage in evapoprator.Switch on again and if still the same you likey have refrigerant loss somewhere, not easy to find or repair.

I refuse point blank to fit customers parts,or get involved with putting right DIY attemps that fail. The customer who wanted a stat fitted on her sons fridge for £18 thought to travel 32 miles return journey and charge £60 inc parts was a rip off.

    Crazy people. :rolls:

    Re: Schreiber APM 6321 SX – on/off/on/off

Think this is the same as Hygena/whirlpool integrated,if you look inside at the back you should see what looks like a wire fastened to the back wall of the fridge, this is the thermostat sensor/phial,unscrew it and try running the fridge with it disconnected.
If it runs without shutting off you have a thermostat problem if not its a compressor/system fault.Thermostat is a diy job but comoressor requires an engineer.
If it’s integrated they always benefit from being removed from fittings and given a good clean with a vacuum clean hose underneath.

    Re: Schreiber APM 6321 SX – on/off/on/off

Is it just the motor thats going on/off, or the whole fridge.
Both fixable but if it’s the motor it would make a mess of £200 to replace.

Re: Hotpoint FZ78N Iced Diamond F/F Freezer

Is the ice in the bottom of the freezer or is it underneath.
Slide your hand unmder the bottom at sides,if you can feel ice forming underneath then the insulation has broken down.
Not repairable if it’s the latter,if it’s the first option then you have hope !

    Re: dogs

The one that bit me on the botty was an old dog(bit like myself) it was in it’s bed when I went in,never barked or moved.
I wanted something from the van, walked to the door and suddenly felt pain in the rear, turned round and the dog was almost back in it’s bed,the woman was gazing out the window totally unaware.
I’m rubbing the affected part saying”your dog has just bit me”she did beleive me so didn’t have to drop the trousers to give her proof 😯

    Re: Compressor size

You need to find the displacement which is in cc’s of the old one, then make sure the replacement is within 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
Just because the compressors are the same horsepower doesn’t mean they are the same capacity.

Been bitten by customers dogs on the bottom, back of the head by a scary alsatian, rescued just in time, also on the legs twice and the hand once.
Surprisingly I like dogs,it’s just their useless owners.
fancy myself as a dog whisperer but still nee more practice 🙂

Pair of old leather gloves and a grunt :), belts vary gen and pattern and some go on easier than others,or should I say less difficult.
