Have you taken out the soap draw and thourougly cleaned the softener syphon, take it apart and clean all holes you can see.
before you put it back re assemble, fill the softener dispenser over the sink and see if it syphons out until no water is left,if it doesn’t check your cleaning.
jets which shoot the water down can become crudded up so something like a stiff washing up brush can help clean the roof of the soap drawer.
Sump hose could be blocked too, doesit spin well? does it pong a bit when not used for a day as this can be a sign that stuff is trapped in the sump hose.
You could also need a soap draw if this doesnt cure it.

Connector onto board, plus the rast type entry of the cable into the plug is always worth a poke with something to ensure the wire is seated in the plug.

    Re: F#$king small claims court

Went a few yearsago on Good Friday to a built in oven which was extremly noisey.
Arrived cooker built in to old chimney breast and a loose brick had fallen down the chimney bending top pa cover and tangential fan, straightened out and tested, all was well.
She said sorry no money or cheque book so I left a bill,no pay forthcoming so the office call saying the company name and hubby says who never heard of him,he has not been here.
So i ring speakes to the wife and she says”I don’t know what he is on with I’l post the cheque.
Never arrived so small claims was issued, more out of prinipal as it was only a labour chage and no parts lost.
He replied to the small claims saying I had never been in the house, the small claims clerk said you will have to attend and they would arbitrate. A 40 mile round trip, loss of half a days pay,no thanks. He got away with it,till I saw him in his driving school car giving instructions on a three point turn.
He remembered me after that 😀 felt sorry for the pupil afterwards 😳

Re: Electronic to Mechanical Fridge Control

I have previously given the spec and mod some thought, little difference IMO in using a pattern/non genuine part on any machine as far as I can see, that is changing the spec too, anyone never used a pattern part?.
Changing capacitors, suppressors, elements etc with anything other than the manufactures exact replica will change the spec, might change it for the better in some cases at present.
Hopefully the engineer that enters the customers house should be competent to make such safety decisions otherwise we will all be painting by numbers, manufactures would then be able to charge what they like for spares, can remember when we were pleased to see pattern stuff on the market 35 years ago which helped keep genuine prices down.
It’s done with the complete awareness and agreement of the customer.
There is of course the opposite scenario on commercial fridges where manual thermostats can be changed to the excellent LAE/Carel digital controllers on commercial fridges which disply temps etc.
Having said that things like toc’s on tumble driers, ovens etc it’s genuine only,no messing.

Makes me wonder if due to the credit crunch stockholding quantities have been lowered, can’t blame them in these times but it is annoying.

Take the fridge out of the fittings and you can measure accurately what space you have.Always 585-590sh wide and whatever the height is of the cupboard.

Re: BOSCH SGS45E08GB Cycle problem and no heat

AS you look at the machine, after unplugging, take off the rh side panel.
heater sits down encased in a plastic unit which comes complete and will cost getting on for £100.
You need a meter to establish if the heater is open circuit ie kaput.
If this is the case you have your answer,if not it could be due to poor circulation and mostly a corrugated tube across the bottom front lh side can be pulled out and is ofte full of gack, all filters should be clean too.
The machine requires good water circulation to engage a pressure type switch which will then allow the heater on.

Switch off unttil you decide what to do otherwise if the compressor at the moment is just short of gas you could get away with a repair and regas,if it’s kept running without refrigerant the windings despite internal protection will fry, then you would need system repair and replacement compressor, possibly beyond eco repair.

3 flashes is a fault in the heating system, sure someone with more link posting ability will direct you to a heater part.

    Re: Oven safety

Cheaper products like diplomat tend not to have the same quality insulation as others,in time the insulation may have naturally compacted and not be as effective,it could also be normal, would depend on what are the acceptable design parameters.
You need an inspection IMO by either or both with the oven manufacture’s and your local corgi/gas safety registered engineer.
Safety is the major issue here and if in doubt don’t use the oven until you are informed it’s OK or otherwise.
Kitchens have been fitted to many different standards, quite depressing somtimes when you are removing fitted in appliances and see some of the “mess” that is called a fitted kitchen.

Hate it when it’s in a multi user enviorment, there is always some clever person with a large voice who knows it all,had one in a large haidressers serving coffee and sump was full of paper sugar wrappers, some 17 year old receptionist with half a ton of make up on says”your trying to tell me thats paper in the filter is stopping it washing innit” yes indeed oh wise one :rolls:

Could be loose connection which may overheat and burn out but have had a couple just fail o/c.
If the water hardness is not set correctly to the area water the heater can become limed up inside could be causing hotspots and the thermal cut out could be in and out when operating.
Blocked sump filters won’t help either.
