    Re: Staff

They will have been trawling the job market and looking at what other qualified engineers are earning. I stress to the guys that come through my training center that they will have to expect lower wages until they start to add value to a business. You could look at a basic + bonus based on hitting targets. £18.500 is very fair for a trainee.

    Resistance
    Insulation Resistance upto 500v
    Capacitance
    Voltage ac and dc
    Temp

The Uni-T UT530 covers all the above for around £120
or Fluke 1587 for a bigger chunk of money

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

I have a guy in for training at the moment that had his dryer modified in the FY8 area. The “engineer” and I use that term extremely loosely, was on site for 10 mins max, didn’t open the machine just popped the rivet and put a sticker on it. So no new back with bump stop, not vacuum out and rivet probably in the wrong place. They where independents but he cant remember who. I wonder how many he has done. Scary :eeek:

    Re: Laminate worktop seam repair

If the chip board hasn’t bulged, tease some contact adhesive in and try and evenly coat both surfaces. Dont push together once glue in and coated, wait 5-10 mins then push together. The glue will grab and hold together as soon as you push them together if it is dry enough.

If you get too much glue in you may find it hard to flatten any bumps left by the glue.

Re: Bosch SRS43C12GB/21 drain pump activating

Might be checking the door switch/mechanism as nothing should happen until the door is closed.
So if you are getting a drain pump running with the door open then possibly the switch hasn’t changed its position. I would also have a visual inspect of the control mod.

    Re: Parts prices

    1. Connect, Qualtex and Masterpart dependant on price and availability. If am only ordering one small part Ill do a direct delivery to myself to get lower cost on delivery from Connect. Masterpart has best prices but not always the stock, Qualtex generally wins on stock and price, Connect has most stock but can be most expensive.
    2. Masterpart often no stock
    3.Price and availability
    4.Daily
    5.Hold accounts

Re: hotpoint hud61g cooling fan always on

It sounds like the cooling fans cycling stat has fused on, It will need to be tested for continuity and should be open circuit when cold.

Only test once the oven has been isolated from the electrics.
