    SAMSUNG:

    From what I understand.

They now want to cut the “Service Centres” By 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. Preferring to deal with larger small companies with 4 or 5 Engineers. Rather than, the dedicated one man band.

I would rather deal with a one man band, speaking to him on his mobile whilst darting up and down the M6 (Hands free of course). Than try to get hold of any one individual in a large organisation in one such as the like sof Comet.

Well good luck to them. I too do not trust Samsung and will Never ever trust certain Individuals who work within its vast organisation. But they are based at Chertsey and are not of Korean Origin. May give you some clues.

Seems Samsung are going along the route that Candy (Kelvinator) did many years ago.

They may as well get a product exchange scheme going now. That and a huge scrap yard to cope with all the exchange products.

Maybe we could rename the product SamBung

You need to run the diagnostics test (manual Procedure)

The easy start is to test if the motor is turning on the ice maker mould by patching a lead accross the relevant terminals.

I don’t have the info to hand but if the details form the OP is not available, I will look for it for you.

Ice maker motor failures on these are the most common.

    Hello,

Never heard of that one. And I see on average 10 samsung american a week.

Common fault on the older twin cooling was/is the Fridge Evap Heater, thermal fuse, Defrost sensor or usual moisture ingress into Evap cover.

Problem was if the Heater or Thermal fuse in the fridge failed, the module was programmed to stay off until the fridge evap reaches room temperature. Result is freezer defrosts, unless customer de-powers – re-powers appliance.

On the later RS21 series. Should the defrost not be attained on the evaporators within “I Think” 45-50 mins. Then the module swithes back to rerigeration mode.End an error is stored in the module as a horizontal line in the centre of the relevant 8

    Hope this helps?

Fan motor is fine, this one has been replaced.
No frost formation on evaporator or ice in drain.

    Thanks for the reply.

Someone menntioned sesnor failures on smaller versions of this model?

    Hello,

I went back tonight and the drum was not turning on Spin.

Unscrewed the carbons and they are down to barely anything. Wiggled em about and popped in back in and motor spun.

    RSH1

Well there have been many and various (Some confusing mods).

Sometimes the problem is so bad you have to replace the evap cover.

I see these all week and Samsung can carry on making these kind of problems as it keeps us all in work.

The RS21 Series was the best ever made, brilliant idea but flawed design.

I have just obtained an RS21DCNS1/XUE from a customer as scrap who said he would never have another. When I went to collect it, they had replaced it with guess what?.

The RS21 with all the mods is a brilliant machine, all it needed to make it really good would be a Whirlpool icemaker for real life size cubes.

Fans know to fail but thermistor is reading temp as okay. What does the display read if you switch it off an back on at the mains?

Got it in one – Fan Fault or Fan Jammed.

Very rare the Freezer fans fail, fridge fan is probably encased in Ice/Hoar frost.

Very rare both fans fail at the same time, but not unknown.

    Re: Candy FF

    Hello,

Yes there is a bulletin for the FRIDGE evaporator.

On these models the compressor can run almost continually in refigeration mode, causing the fridge to freeze food.

The buletin “should” come with the Sensor/thermistor. It invloves stripping out the rear insulation behind the fridge evap and you should re-foam it. Screwfix or B&Q have the cheapest no frills expanding foam.

Beware though, the dimensions given in the buletin are not always correct.

    Hope this helps?
