the call out would be £100 by then, the labour probably £50-75
Just for your interest, my call-out is only payable if you decide not to repair the machine. At the moment it stands at £18 +VAT. If you go with the repair my normal labour rate at the moment is £38 to £42 + VAT. (This isn’t per hour!!! I would charge more if the Job extends over 1 and a 1/2 hours).
Tim Downing is the one listed as the official ISE representative on the website for my area. He was by far the better in his explanation compared to the other guy and quite probably the guy I will go with. I thought he was quite sensible to talk to.
I’ll take that as a compliment. 😳

ParticipantRe: Is the ISE 2 any good ?
I think we may have already had a chat about this. 😉
As we discussed, if you don’t want the chance of repairs go for the ISE10.
As you go down the range potentially more chance of things going wrong more frequently. The thing is you never know.
I believe you told me you spent £450 on your AEG 12 years ago. So £799 on the ISE10 is great value and will be money well spent. (You will have to wait till November if you want one as the have been selling like hot cakes).

Therefore this is a bad thing for the independent trade. If it is successful it could be be copied by other manufacturers so we end up with all washing machines having such cover.
Exactly. This is what I wrote earlier. People seem to think that their customers aren’t going to go down that road. Dosen’t matter how loyal your customers are, money talks. If they see a cheaper option they potentially will go for it.
I suppose the longer we keep quiet about it the better. 😉

I have checked all the wiring, tightened connections and tested accordingly. All fine for me.
Sean, I may have sorted it, customer hasn’t phoned back yet.
I just wanted to know what to advise customer if she does still have a
problem.Would it be the motor at fault? Or the motor pcb?
Thanks,
Tim.

it seemed to be coming from the bottom left
As you look at the machine can you something at the bottom left?
I think you’ll find your pump behind a plastic cover.
Probably pump or blockage in the pump.
Unplug machine, towels down to protect the floor and have a look. Make sure the drum is empty of water first!!!

not mentioning the Hotpoint cover is equivalent to selling low quality machines (and knowing it)
I don’t know why the majority are against Hoover machines? I don’t believe they are low quality. As i don’t believe i am selling low quality i can’t agree with you on the above comment.
I simply meant that if a customer is not prepared to spend on their machine or is griping about the cost of fixing a machine, I will pass it on as I don’t need the hassle
So this means you would advise them of hotpoints cover? And not go for the sale? You see this is the grey area i’m struggling with, we either tell all or none about hotpoints cover? we can’t pick and choose can we??
I am selling ISE as you now know but we don’t know how good they are yet do we?? We are all putting a lot of trust into ISE and our good names into the equation as well.
I can’t judge whether the ISE2 or ISE5 are better quality than the HNL642 or OPH714d.
If somebody can tell me how we know an ISE2 is better built than a HNL642 please tell me.
Anyway thats going off topic isn’t it, sorry.

Stick a new pump in it. Could be cutting in an and out. Other than that it must be a strange module fault.

Luckily thats what my GBDAR work was. I always new it could end at anytime but after six years you kind-a get use to it.

Not conceited at all. Thats good. I wish I had that record of write-offs to sales.
my price includes installation and disposal of old appliance .
As do mine.
