just twist wires together like they do on aircraft and heat it up with lighter .

I wouldn’t just twist the wires together.

On aircraft they inline crimp/splice the wires together then apply heatshrink. (Using a heat gun).

    In my experience STAY CLEAR!!!

Only did 32 jobs for them over about 6 months. Was promised 5 to 10 jobs a week. 😯

They still owe me for the last 4 jobs. About £250. That was 18 months ago.

    Not much money but still.

This is quite a common occurance when you change the brushes on this range. Don’t be to hasty in writing off the machine. Tell the customer to do at least 4 empty cycles. This will hopefully allow the new brushes to bed in.

I had a bulletin from Servis the other day stating this problem and changing the door lock will rectify it.

Mmmm….My interpretation was, the customer had tested their own heater and stat.

On these occasions I always run the machine on the 29 minute cycle as you only have to wait 5 minutes for power to the heater. You probably do this anyway…so sorry.

    🙂

Have you been to the machine yet? This machines got a double glazed door so it might be the customer thinking its not heating on the wash??

If heater and thermistor ok then check the variable temp dial is ok. Other than that it has to be the module.

They probably have a poor wash which has made them assume the machine isn’t heating??

i just hope inflation feeds its way into white goods prices sometime soon

It is already. Last month Hoover/Candy increased all new machines by 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. With another rise on the cards.

As long as this trend is seen with all manufaturers then it can only be good news for this industry.

Sounds like your machine isn’t draining the water properly.
This could be down to a blockage or pump failure.

Unplug the machine if you are going to try and fix it yourself!!

Re: Hotpoint WD420 one shot stat tripped again!

    The job so far;

A Hotpoint engineer drilled out and reset the one-shot stat in December.

I called a month ago to find one-shot had gone again. Cleaned out box assy and fitted new red spot one-shot.

New one-shot went a few drys later.

Fitted Version 3 box assy, metal fan type, in-place of plastic fan type.

    Cheers.

Re: Hotpoint WD420 one shot stat tripped again!

Having read Jims post about the Version 3 heater box assy I fitted a version 3 heater box to a machine that had the version 2 (plastic fan type).

    I have now read this from Hotpnt on another thread;

i have never yet seen a metal fan come loose, but you cannot fit that to a machine that has a plastic one, due to changes in several other parts plus the new parts would also require the module to be re-programmed

I haven’t had a recall from the customer but am obviously concerned that there may be a problem??

    Any thoughts?

    Re: Candy AT130

I would have thought the one in the machine would be the same as the one you have in stock. The part number should be on the selector in the machine. (white sticky label).

    Re: hoover nextra hnwf 7137

    Hoover (Nextra series) washing machines

The ‘Start’ & ‘Pause’ LED’s will flash together to indicate the error code. You have to count the flashes within each 15 second period to get that error code. The start and the pause LED’s will flash together at 1Hz (i.e 1 flash per second) within that 15 second time frame, then will continue and show again within another 15secs and so on.

    1 Flash = Interlock fault
    2 Flashes = Fill time-out
    3 flashes = Drain time-out
    4 flashes = Overfill fault
    5 flashes = NTC error
6 flashes = faulty control board
    7 flashes = Motor jammed
    8 flashes = Tacho fault
9 flashes = Motor triac on module board
10 flashes = Prog Selector or wiring fault

Nothing for 11 flashes. Perhaps it is something to do with the dryer circuit then?????Above faults are for Nextra washing machines.

    Re: hoover nextra hnwf 7137

Count the number of flashes. The number of flashes will give you the fault code. Look in known error codes, i’m sure its in there.
