    Re: Candy AT130

The normal 91201337 selector on this one so always a high chance the selector is at fault.

Are you sure no-one else has had the selector knob and cam off and put them back slightly out of synch? (This is possible.)

If all of the above ok then it can only be the module.

    Re: ISE5 carbons

Yep did a pair on a 16 month old two weeks ago.

The bad bit, is that the machine dies when the brushes go OC. Put it on spin, you hear the pump for a few seconds, then as soon as the motor should come in the machine stop (with the lights still lit).

This sort of faulting is no different to alot of machines. My ISE5 the other week beeped out ‘carbon brushes worn’ in a kind of morse code. 😉

I will put money on the new ISE5 brushes lasting longer!!!!

It would be good to hear from other members who are working with easi-rent. Rather than guessing at what could be, perhaps someone could tell us how it has been for them.

Re: Hoover Performa 1100 ac110 keeps stopping mid cycle

What have you supposedly had done to it to date?

    Possible faults;

    heater.
    thermostat.
    wiring.
    timer.

Difficult to take you any further with it.

Remember unplug machine if taking any panels off!!!!

Re: Hoover Performa 1100 ac110 keeps stopping mid cycle

When it stops between 4 and 5 what happens if you click the timer on a step or two? Does it complete the cycle? Or does it stick again?

If it completes the cycle, when clicked on, I would say it is stopping because the water hasn’t heated up to the correct temperature in time?

No. 4 is a cold fill only cycle anyway so the hot pressure won’t effect it.

Unplug machine if you are going to remove any panels.

    Probably E3.

    3. OVER-FLOW ERROR
    – Display shows ‘ E3’ .
    – Over-Flow error occurs when the water level is in abnormal operation. It can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF.
Water is drained prior to POWER S/W OFF and it is forced to be drained for 2 min if a frequency of more than 25.24
    KHz is detected.

Pressure issue. Check pressure tube isn’t split. Reservoir blocked?

    Re: New ISE 5 questions.

Cheers Chris that will make life alot easier! 😉

You must admit though unlike the ISE5 v1 this motor removal is not designed for the engineer in mind.
I remember when I was shown how to dismantle the ISE5 v1 there was a high emphasis on ease of repair. I know you can’t have it all ways but the point I was making was not to be awkward but was, I thought, a valid question.

K mentioned Indesit were into this sort of design but surely this is not what the ISE brand is about?
(I like most people will never be changing motors on an Indesit due to part cost.)

I hope ‘comments’ won’t be taken personally because that is not good for moral. My motor removal question was serious not inflammatory.
I haven’t had the opportunity to try so was wondering if a torx bit in a holder on a ratchet would fit in-between back panel and bolt.

    Re: New ISE 5 questions.

It’s not too bad to do but there’s a knack

Perhaps we should have an ISE ‘Knack’ sticky. ISE2 kickplates and now 2 and 5 motors. 😉

As I’m feeling to lazy to suss it out and somebody else has gone through the process to find the ‘knack’ perhaps I could be enlightened to which is the best way to approach a motor change. 🙂

    Re: New ISE 5 questions.

Installed my first ISE5 v2 yesterday.
Having sold it blind I was overall very pleased with the machine. Nice and quiet, easy controls and display lights bright enough.

Was wondering has any one tried removing the motor on the new 5 or new 2 yet???
Must be a pig to do???

I’m sure if any other manufacturer had no access panels at the back we’d be cursing them. Or is it just me again???
    🙂

Trying to aspire to 10 to 12 jobs a day may be setting your hopes to high.
I find having 6 to 8 jobs a day has always been adequate. Occassionally I will work Saturday mornings. This allows, I feel, a good work life balance which is something you may not be-able to juggle when you are first starting out.
Obviously there is always paperwork and calls to take. I find I get a lot of work from answering calls out of hours.

Again I have been doing this 14 years and advertise in the Yellow pages. Occasionally tried other forms of advertising but that didn’t work for me.

Its been quiet for me for the last few weeks, luckily sales of new machines and a bit of third party work has counteracted the lack of repairs.

    Good Luck.

    Re: tubs dumped distgusting

I think you’ll find it’s our ‘travelling community’ that hook the drums out and take the metal cabinets and motors to the scrap dealers.

I doubt they would go to that bother. Price is paid on weight not what your scrapping. So a complete machine will get you more cash than a cabinet and motor.
    I think we’ve been here before. 😉
