Heater OC can cause strange faults on these machines. I’d be looking at blocked reservoir leading to OC heater first of all.

If this has been checked definitely the module.

    Re: Hotpoint CTD80 4 beeps.

I just downloaded the manual and it says that the alarm will sound 4 times if you try and select an option that isn’t allowed for that programme.

I know thats not the fault you described but the customer could be explaining it wrong to you?

    Thanks for replies.

This one is the display board as well.

I must say nice and easy to get to. It was a pleasure not to struggle in getting the board out. I was hoping it was the on/off switch broken on the board unfortunately not! 😥

I established the machine is still under 1 year old so have advised customer to hunt out receipt or at least give hotpoint a ring.

How strange! I have had exactly the same fault today. Never had to do anything else apart from unblock and reset stat…until now.
I have gone for changing the lower pcb which I hope supplys power to the dryer heaters.

I have just ordered it from hoover. It cost £38 plus VAT and P+P.

Will let you know how I get on.

Re: Essential parts to always carry

Look back on your last 3 months of trading. Any part you have needed more than once I would say start keeping in stock.

As already stated the everyday stuff is relatively cheap especially if you buy the pattern equivalent.

Keep clear of modules and motors as they are too dear to keep in. They can always be got on 24 hour delivery and due to the cost of the part delivery is generally free, unlike ordering the odd door seal or valve.

    Re: indesit w123

Don’t have parts list available, sorry. If you just silicone the hole this may stop the leak but the heater won’t be supported by a bracket. You could try the machine on fast spin with a full load and see if the heater taps up or down.

(You could try a shorter heater if you cant get screw and bracket.)
