Re: Servis M6006AL washing machine bearings

The ‘tongue in cheek’ comment wasn’t towards your knowledge/skill as that is taken as read.
I should have been clearer. 😳

It was in regards to anyone in the trade spending £125 on a Servis washing machine.

    No rudeness intended.

If you want me to get you the kit let me know.

Is this a tongue in cheek post?

If not, then sorry for thinking it might be.

Bearing kit BRG4646 from connect is listed for your model.

    £8.00 trade.

This model is pretty straight forward if I remember correctly. About 16 (10mm) self tappers around the back. You can tease the backhalf through the back of machine with a bit of squeezing.

You can also get a new gasket for the backhalf. £8.00.

But I always found a clean up and deebor did the trick.

Have you seen the machine yet?

One of the valve coils may be open circuit.

Do check the module connections on this model as they have a tendancy to melt.

Also check the wires to the pressure switch, they can melt as well and give you a no fill fault.

getting my fair share of them this week as well funny how u go for weeks without seeing them then they all turn up in one week

You’re dead right. It must be the sunny weather?

If you don’t mind I think I’ll use your ‘term.’

I normally call them time wasters but after the week I’m having using your ‘term’ will make me feel alot better! 🙂

Get them to pay ISE directly.

    That should do it.

The dispenser top and gearing come as a complete assembly, change it and all will be fine.

I hope I wasn’t trying to persuade her. I didn’t like the sound of her but she wouldn’t leave me alone.

Customer phones 4pm Saturday…10 minute conversation about charges.

Same customer phones 11am Monday….3 minute conversation about charges.

Same customer phones 1pm Monday…books call for Tuesday 11 to 1 slot.

Same customer phones 5pm Monday…cancels call because her mum is ill…do I believe her?

Did you get her to select spin on its own after it faulted?

As you know, it could be a timing out on drain, or is it a time-out on fill?

You know what customers are like! Its not actually a no spin fault, its just that it hasn’t got to spin!

Have you tested the wash heater? Insulation & continuity.

I don’t see it as a contradiction, just a different interpretation of a similar example.

You interpret ‘just answer’ as a win situation, albeit based on one job.

I interpret it as lose situation because of the implications it could / does have on our trade.

Martin, when you say its hard to quantify how then do you know its making diddly squat difference to your custom? That could be your ‘win’ mentality kicking in? 😉

On a side issue, but possibly related? Have your calls per day changed over the last six months, year, two years?

I’m not so sure? I have to agree with ‘lee8’ on this one.

I wonder, Martin, how many jobs you’re not getting because of these sorts of sites?

    I had a job last week;

60 something widower bought a new door seal for her creda washing machine, watched the espares video tutorial and then thought I don’t want to risk it, and called me out to fit it.

From that I didn’t think that we are all winners, I thought thats another nail in the coffin.
I wish I shared your optimism, what lottery numbers are you doing this week?
