This is a classic fault on the Mark 3 (FULL0028) board. Spins fine but no wash or very groggy wash action. Call us on 0115 9652118 – we have them in stock and it should sort this straight away. Tony http://www.emwelec.co.uk

Correct. 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the boards sent in are charged at £4+vat as test only. Your board had work done on it as a result of dampness jumping the tracks and was finally reprogrammed. Send your board back for a full credit of £41 and we will then re-test it and put it into our stock.

    Re: Indesit W93 prob.

Before sending the board to us, have a look at :
1 edge connectors – tighten each pin with a stanley blade
2 damp ? these boards don’t care for damp or condensation – unplug
the machine and dry the board with a hairdryer – tell the customer to ventilate the kitchen more
3 uneven wear on carbon brushes – they may have 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} life left but if they wear slightly unevenly the dreaded timer will rotate
4 open circuit components – heater/pump/thermister (2 on dryers) – they will all send the timer around
5 motor – try another as a last resort
Only after everything else exhausted send the board to us.
I only mention this because about 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the boards sent in have no fault

We diagnose & reprogram these Evolution parts. Send the main board & display for test/repair same day. F12 often means memory messed up both on the board AND display

    Re: Indesit W12SUK

I’m not knocking QER, but don’t think they do a soak test which is essential on these. These boards have subtle faults and it takes a lot of patience and research to truly fault find on them. You could send it to us for test (we charge much less than QER for tests) AND we return it with a checklist of other items to check on the machine if it is no fault found. Watch out for uneven wear on the carbon brushes (even with 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} life left on them) as this can cause the dreaded timer rotation. Re: Module/Timer repairers not playing fair?

I think you guys are getting very excited over absolutely nothing. Here at EMW we possibly sell 1 item a week to so called retail. Often these ‘retail’ customers are keen DIY people who would not use an engineer for any sort of repairs around the house. The numbers are tiny. If we were to thoroughly vet all new customers it would take days (It takes a few days to get access to trade areas on this site) and we find that genuine trade customers don’t have the time to wait for parts while we ‘vet’ them. Most people want their engineer to repair their washer mighty quick these days or they march out and buy a new one. We do refuse to take back blown parts from ‘one-off’ customers and charge them a double handling charge when parts are returned perfect. What about you engineers out there who blow a board and we replace it INCLUDING FIRST CLASS POST for a measly £4+vat ? Our wages bill has doubled, our local rates trebled, postage costs doubled but our prices remain at the same level as they were 10 years ago. Most of my day is spent talking to TRADE customers advising them about technical issues on machines like the Indesit W103. If I think it’s not a timer or module fault, I say so – I have never been in this business for a quick buck. I replied to a thread yesterday advising someone to send 2 parts in for testing at a cost of £6+vat INCLUDING return first class post and I notice that my reply was removed – possibly you thought that I was going to make a massive profit out of the £6 after I have paid staff to test the unit and paid for the return postage. If UK Whitegoods treats people like us here at EMW like this, I would prefer to have no part in it. Maybe there are people out there who have used us at EMW for the last 18 years and can put the record straight. I wonder if the person who removed my reply will have the guts to leave this one in place.

    Re: Hotpoint Washer/Dryer WD51

It’s quite common this one. When the mains finally switches off at the end of the prog, they often throw sensitive RCD’s as the switches inside the timer are badly burnt. Change the timer (in stock – tel 0115 9652118) and leave it 3 weeks before you send us the old unit. This gives the customer plenty of time to test the new timer and gives you the opportunity to re-fit the old unit if it does not correct the problem.

This is a common fault on these slave timers. We’ve got them in stock at £19.90+vat inc first class post and 12 months guarantee. If you need to return to us for any reason, handling charge is £4+vat. We are happy to let you borrow one and see if it sorts the problem out. Tony EMW 0115 9652118
