ParticipantRe: EMW issues
It’s always disappointing when our service is criticised, especially as we work so hard to ensure that repairs and orders are turned around same-day. We do try to repair as many boards as possible but only take on a new module when we have thoroughly researched it and of course have the test rig built. It is always best to check with us before sending odd modules but at least we make no charge for the return postage when customers send us modules that we do not repair. Our telephone line is generally answered between 9am-4.30pm with an answering machine taking orders out of hours. I can also be contacted on 0773 012 0672 for additional technical enquiries but preferably not for straightforward orders which should be directed to our normal 0115 9652118 line. If any customers are not sure if we repair a board, check with our website http://www.emwelec.co.uk or call us on 0115 9652118. Tony EMW

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 1603557 module
No. It can be configured for h&c or just cold. The circuitry is there on all boards for all the valves. The label just indicates the way it has been set up at the factory. Tony

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint stuck in spin.
Careful with this one. Heater faults also cause these boards to stall at different postions, even on spin. On digital display machines, they often count down to 1 minute and stay there. Change the heater and they work ok.

If you get really stuck, send it to us for a same-day test (include a note of the fault) for £5+vat inc return post. Could be a welded heater relay or corrupted chip. Tony http://www.emwelec.co.uk
