Re: New Technical Advice – Installation

I recently installed a dishwasher that had been stored in the shops “Container” outside in there yard. It was an integrated Bosch and having installed it the pump was on continuous…..The water had frozen in the pump! I know this happens but I just didn’t expect it with a new appliance that had been delivered to the customer a couple of hours before I wrrived to install….Thankfuly no fried components though 😀

Don’t forget to keep the old one and try putting it in the freezer – they sometimes reset!

I just wonder why you ordered the appliance online? Do you not have a local retailer?

I go for the good old “Green” model batteries NEVER run out and you won’t find a lighter one AND it takes up so little space!

    P.S. It’s not for drilling holes 😳

Only just read all this……Certainly interseting but not sure if I should risk it on my very well pampered trafic with 152k on the clock. However I would love to know what everyone is getting MPG? My 1.9 trafic is averaging around 36

Re: John Lewis (Zanussi) inline diode to t/o element

THIS you will love! although the oven is only two years old the part required (Diode) is no longer available!!! I was told to go to the customer service team who then said my customer would have to have a service force engineer visit to confirm that the part was faulty and unavailable …..How much for the visit? depending where she is in the country anything from £50 to £100!
Do I fit my own diode sourced from maplins?

Re: John Lewis (Zanussi) inline diode to t/o element

Sorry guys…..only just picked up replies! It is DEF a diode and it was in some heat proof sleeving. I managed to pick one up from maplins as Dave suggested with a 600v piv.

BUT I don not have a clue why the diode was there??? I stupidly just chopped it out thinking it was a thermal fuse so didn’t note which way it was (WHOOPS) I assumed it would be a straight forward fix and didn’t take too much notice (Whoops again) The diode as I recall was inline on the live supply to the top oven base element…….I have never seen this before!

    Will update soon ……Hopefuly 🙂

    Re: WMA (hard) spider bolts??

I stopped drilling them out ages ago. I always give them a good wack with a lump hammer and a blunt punch, I have yet to come across one that wont come out using that method although some need a bloody good wack!
I went to a Lux oven last week and the inner panel screws were rusted in and the heads almost completely rounded – the hammer trick worked for those too!

Re: de dietrich fan oven low heat

I would replace the motor first and go from there….I have just done a de dietrich and the motor was a piece of cake although I almost made the mistake of taking the three screws out from the oven cavity (They should come out of the motor accessed via back panel removal) Mine was a range type cooker but electornic display etc – symptoms were oven not reaching temp!

Re: Card Payments …which way to go?

Thanks both Martin & Steve, I will do a search again and a bit more swatting! It is interesting that you mention cardsave Steve ……I am awaiting a call from there sales team whilst Qixpay are due in tommorow.

I am sure we will wonder how we managed without the card facility once we start using it!

    Thanks again
