Silly question?
I just wondered Andy ….did you ever go back to the customer to see if it was JUST a case of clearing the code, or if it was as previously suggested, a blocked pressure pipe etc?
Miele engineers feeling elite? I have to say that when I have requested help on here with Miele appliances the response has been great and I assumed more than one was from a Miele engineer.
Keep up the good work!trotter
ParticipantRe: Dodgy Cooker Elements Abound
Excellent idea testing them DOH never thought of that. Just one other thing…..I collect all the bags of silica gel that come with lots of things and throw them in the bottom of my element box on the van š

ParticipantRe: Fagor FBI 981X1 Int’ Oven
Not sure how these are wired but there may be an over temp inline. If the element is not open circ I would go with the fan motor and if that doesn’t cure it trace the wiring back from the element

ParticipantRe: Busy? I am turning work away
Chris,
The point I am making is don’t under sell yourself! Have you looked at your costs? How much do you really earn per hour after ALL your costs?
I am not trying to tell you how to run your business and I too love my work, but If customers are happy to pay a manufacture upwards of £80 why would you only value your time at £35?
As for less common faults – there are plenty Chris & there is also plenty of helpful local engineers to call on if you get stuck! And plenty of experience that is readily available.
I was not having a dig at you personaly Chris (Or anyone else) it was a general comment and incidently, in my opinion you ARE vastly undervaluing yourself! you have a great website and you are obviously very conscientious.
Just consider this for a moment…..I have a regular customer who is happy to pay me 59 pounds, but I am too busy, I would love to pass the call on (Maybe motor brushes) I don’t have an independant that will take it – so customer goes to manufacture! THAT breaks my heart!!
Merry Christmas all š

ParticipantRe: Belling or Beko Thermal fuse Belling BE335WH
I am sure that the thermal fuse replaced the microtemp although don’t know the part number!
The good thing is that if the fuse blows again it is not YOUR part so you don’t have to guarantee it. I have heard of some nightmare scenarios with these where they just keep going within twelve months.
A bit like neff elements I guess

Noisy washer, 7 days old.He points to the rear panel which has a hole showing the pulley nut sticking out.
He asked if I wanted the instructions, to which I replied “why is there something in there you don’t understand” š
His mistake was when he removed the transit brackets, he’d taken the rear panel off, only when he put it back on it was the wrong way around, which meant the recess for the nut was touching, they carried on using until the nut had worn through the panel.
There complaint was of noise on spin, no sh8 Sherlock. :rolls:

The new strap across the top is a flimsy, floppy thin strip of metal, like a Rolf Harris wobble board. It looks about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. :rolls:
You even sound a little surprised! :rolls:

Never thought of freezer spray BUT first one I tried in the freezer worked after about half an hour …..maybe just got lucky? But I certainly won’t throw any more away without trying them in the freezer first and I wondered if it works with any others?

fan is running

if temps all over the place the ntc sensors can be badly out of calibration
remove plinths and clean condensor as it sits underneath fridge
check compressor temp and make sure compressor cooling fan is ok
hope this helps, chris
Thanks for that! ….Customer is currently mulling over the quoted cost of a module . I will report back, I may have the thing back in the workshop to strip down
