    Re: Bearing water seal lubrication

I notice you have put the grease on the seal face when really it should have been placed in the seal lip as this is where it makes moving contact with the shaft. This could be the cause of the squeek. Or maybe the door seal rubber is catching the lip of the drum?
You can buy special water resistant grease for bearing seals.

Used a hair dryer on mine or hot boiling water. Or you could ask a sign writer.

It now appears that cheap washing machines can affect the life span of the customer 🙁

Could be the timer not reversing the motor?

    Andy Grays misses 😆
Not fit or 25 but attractive I have to say 😉 But it`s never worth the risk IMO. Sure it must be covered in the WTA code of conduct is it not?

Not much work today. Did have one woman customer today that seemed to want more than just her washing machine repaired!!
She stood there watching me fit a door seal to her washing machine, with the aid of a bit of washing up liquid and then said ” I think you would make a fantastic gynecologist” Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr I laughed nervously and said “I dont think so” 😳
Sometimes it`s great to get back to the safe haven of the old van!

That is terrible, get well soon.
Once again another good example why we should have access to technical info with all the warnings etc.
I would get some legal advice.

Re: Miele error codes – can you or can you not reset them?

On the latest Bosch washing machines you have to unlock the fault code after changing motor brushes. While you do not need software to do this you do need to know what buttons to press and when to turn the timer dial to unlock the code etc.
This information is not available to independent engineers as far as I am aware.
I would not be surprised if Miele use similar code locking practices.

Hammer a large flat bladed screw driver between the spider casting and the drum lip and lever out.
Avoid doing this to the leg nearest the drum seam and be careful not to buckle the drum lip that runs close to the door seal as this never looks good when you get the thing spinning again.

Heat works as it breaks the strength of the thread lock. Aluminium also expands at a greater rate than steel so this all helps in releasing the bolt. Just be careful.

I agree it`s not ideal but have done it a few times as there seems no other way. You just need to heat the pulley slowly and take care. Maybe someone else can suggest a better safer way.

Not easy I agree. I have used impact drivers but I always heat the pulley with a blow lamp but be very careful not to get the plastic drum too hot.
A Torx T50 with a long wrench may do a better job than the impact driver but you will still need the heat.

Correct Martin, with one soggy wet towel it will ramp up and spin. I will go back and have another look 😕

    Thanks
