ParticipantI am intrigued on what the new law actually means? The general gist of it that spare parts “should” be available for “up to” ten years and that only professional repairers can do this which I certainly hope this applies to us indies.
Does the law applies specifically to appliances that are bought on 1st of July 2021 onwards not prior to 1st July 2021? I am just trying to gauge on what customers are trying to do especially if attempting to use the new law on their side saying “I bought this tumble dryer in 2018 and you are telling me that I can’t get parts for it and it’s obsolete?”.
I think the law does not even touch on the build quality especially on certain brand of ovens like CDA that tends to crumble after a year or two or is the law is meant to promote better build quality?

ParticipantJust had two modules repaired – new heater relays for both hotpoint condenser dryer and Bosch vented dryer. Refitted into the appliances and all appears to be working.

Yes Its strange the QER website has no contact numbers to query if they repair a particular board before we send it off.
Never had any real problems with QER but I never found they were as fast as EMW with their return deliveries which were sent first class.
I have used them in the past and can’t remember the reason why I went with EMW, I think it was the lack of Bosch module repair. I have a Hotpoint dryer module to send off to them in the vain hope that they will replace heater relays.

ParticipantI have the same sort of problem with same machine – it is showing dC which says load imbalance or something catching in the door. I can’t find anything obvious, it won’t start, tried to recalibrate which simply refuses to co operate. What did you do to resolve it?

ParticipantI am experiencing problems with ASWO for not moving things forward from Orders in Progress after making payment. No money were taken just simply says Orders in Progress. So much for next day delivery when it is taking over a week. Kinda embarrassing for me when I have customers booked in for the refit. Are others having same issue? I wonder if they are being choosy on which card payment to use?

ParticipantI am due to return in the next few days to investigate it further and will get back to you on this. thank you for your help.

ParticipantI did check and it all working correctly even checked the ntc tolerance which is 100k at 25 deg. I checked the connections and all appears to be sound, I even tested each connector. Maybe there is a faulty connection by movement such as all is fine when I tested it then close it up which may have shifted the cable in a position to produce negative result?

Been asked for comment by a news outlet so want to know how you guys are finding it on new products.

Still grim, Bosch stock is improving slightly but Bekoand Hotpoint appears to be non existent. Dishwashers are in short supply.

add to this there will be less suppliers in the market which always pushes up prices to to less competiton
even last night i need an inner door for a Beko. can get a whole door in the uk or just the inner door but its in france and dont know how long the delay will be. all i can do is infor customer and let them make the decision. more cost and quick or less cost and a dont know when
Dave
That is the reality I am in now, giving the customers the choice – time versus money. Vast majority says time and will pay more after realising that replacing the appliance is not an option as again long waiting list for certain brands along with higher prices. FYI I am still waiting for that Beko dishwasher that I ordered in December, thank goodness for such an understanding and extremely patience customer which is few and far between.

That’s impressive! I have never managed to wriggle it out from the front except for drain pump but not heat pump.

ParticipantCan I ask for help on this tumble dryer? Randomised fault… sometimes it starts and others won’t and it flashes red three times it beeped between two flashes then 20 flashes and it looped.

ParticipantIs the main module a plug and play or is there a sequence that I need to do to make it work?

ParticipantI did wonder after I got the recall, will check in a few hours. Thank you.

ParticipantI have stopped going out to AEG/Zanussi dishwashers of certain age.
Dave – I will post PNC number if I come across one if it slipped through the net as my wife is filtering the calls out for me. It the leaks that get my back up Then the pressure sensors fault, now looking likely software issues. I have to protect my reputation hence the reason for refusing to touch them as I don’t want word going round saying that I am hopeless on AEG type dishwashers which I am at the moment but I don’t want it to be public knowledge.
