Just a thought……maybe when it tries to reverse tumble the cap is not performing.might be nonsense but worth a shout i thought ❓
Thanks for the suggestion but when under load the machine starts OK. If I try to hold the drum back it there is enough power to turn also the motor gradually slows and comes to a halt rather than not starting when reversing so I don’t think it’s going to be the capacitor.

Hi Don
Went over to AWI today and found a guy in the workshop. He was fairly tight lipped and all he would say was that AWI was in “suspended trading” and mail shots will be going out in the next few days. If you have any questions to put to him I will have a go Monday.
DonThanks for finding out Don
Doesn’t sound good.It would be a shame to loose AWI as a supplier, Tech support first class, excellent prices and I can’t remember ever having a problem with an order (which is more than I can say for some suppliers).
I guess it’s a sign of the times, and microwave ovens become throwaway. Microwave ovens are so cheap to buy the only ones worth repairing nowadays are integrated and commercial.

We’ve dealt with AWI for several years but a quick companies house check says the date of incorporation is 4-11-2010

If I couldn’t get any suggestions here a call to EMW on Monday was next on the agenda.
Thanks.

The connector appeared to be OK, I removed and refitted it but because you have to go thorough a cycle to test didn’t know if it rectified the problem or not.
If a loose connector can produce this fault i think it might be worth going back and tightening the connections on the fascia and control PCB and seeing what happens.

ParticipantRe: Indesit W/D WIDL126UK Clothes come out wet and hot.
Update to above.
Returned to machine and have confirmed at the end of a wash the machine goes into the tumble dry although the dial is set to the off position. I have checked the control knob is not offset.
I can only assume this has to be either the fascia PCB or the main control PCB.
Has anyone found this problem before or have any idea which PCB it’s likely to be?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL2066GB/08 Drum rubs Door seal
This machine will need a door seal and door interlock, the looking at the BSH site the spider comes with a drum so looks like BER.
Thanks for the help.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL2066GB/08 Drum rubs Door seal
I looked for this, the drum was slightly out of align but the tub support felt solid.
It’s the only logical explanation though.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD61 leaks from Detergent Dispenser
worth taking it off the tub end to check to see if tub aperture is clear and that there’s no soap build-up in the U Trap part of that hose maybe? /quote]
Thanks Martin
I didn’t take the hose off yesterday, just squeezed it to make sure there wasn’t a blockage, previous machine with the same problem I did remove the hose to check (and looked into the tub but couldn’t find the problem. Might be worth going back to check though.

Are EMW giving 12 months again?
I thought they cut guarantees down because the PCB’s are so unreliable!Twoten
ParticipantRe: Neff V5340X0GB/03 pressure chamber
Probably my fault, I moved the question on to changing the door seal and whether to remove the weight or struggle with the drain hole?

ParticipantRe: Neff V5340X0GB/03 pressure chamber
What do most engineers do when changing the door seal on these then, take the weight off and take the risk or struggle with the hose connection?
