    Oops!

It looks like the model number was wrong on this.

    It should have been WFR2860GB/01

This machine has a separate LCD display to the control board. Has anyone come across this problem with this machine who can advise if it’s more likely to be the display or PCB or a 50/50 chance.

I don’t fancy gambling on this one as the LCD retails at £88 and the PCB £150.

Is it me, or are you answering the question by not answering the question?

If it is, do we assume that Part Center are happy to sell to anyone at trade prices?

    Hi Wayne

In your post you did not say if the prices shown to non account customers on the Parts Center site are an error or are there to stay?

If an error when will it be corrected?

    You didn’t answer this question.

    Hi Wayne,

In your post you did not say if the prices shown to non account customers on the Parts Center site are an error or are there to stay.

If an error when will it be corrected?

The argument that customers will not find it doesn’t ring true, the supposed reason given for the highly inflated retail prices originally displayed on the site was to dissuade retail customers from buying therefore Parts Centre ‘must’ have anticipated the retail customer finding the site.

Can Parts Center just put a realistic suggested retail price on the system in a similar way to the old Washvac website?

Also in the “super Savers’ brochure, is it 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off online orders as in the 2” high print or the 2.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as stated in the small print?

Also Wayne……..thanks for sticking your head above the parapet, it’s nice to get some answers!

I find they always do it when I’m crouching behind the machine and after spraying me with detergent and dust say “you don’t mind if”!

If you can’t get the clamps in you can always try the tissue as suggested. The advantage of that is you’ll have something to wipe the blood off your knuckles afterwards 🙂

How good is this web site?

For what it’s worth, I think this website is great.

Bringing together the independents of this industry and giving them a voice can only be a god thing. I don’t now how many manufacturers take note of what is happening here but it’s evident some of the larger suppliers of spares monitor what we have to say and it appears they take note.

To pool the knwledge of about 600 engineers can’t be a bad thing, there will always be those querky faults that can only be found by either hours of testing, manufactures technical teams or ‘luck’. Also where trial and error comes into play when diagnosing certain faults, sharing information helps to reduces the error aspect therefore reducing time and outlay on some repairs.

A big thanks to all those that put in the time to set up, run and moderate the site as well as those that are always offering advice and support.

Next time ukwhitegood have a meeting it looks as if I will have to make the journey as I think I might owe some people a drink.

    Re: Masterpart vs Parts Center?

Reading the posts about Masterpart I’m beginning to wonder if things have improved since I stopped using them at the beginning of 2000.

Now reading Goosegreen’s post I’m not so sure.

Problem is, as a sole trader, when I order parts I phone and check price and availability. Having been told they have the parts ‘needed’, I make the order up with parts to replenish used stock in order to bring the value up for free delivery.
Problem is when the orders came through the parts ‘needed’ were out of stock. I then had to find an alternative supplier and incur the carriage charges as well as the extra delay caused through waiting for the delivery.
On top of this the parts that where not in stock, so cancelled, turn up 6 weeks later. Returning the unwanted items incur 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} restocking fee. Further to this if you ask for a part giving description and full details of the machine including part number/serial number. If the part supplied was wrong they expect you to return it at your expense and charge you 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} for the privilege.
I don’t mind paying a handling charge if my mistakes although 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is a bit steep, but when it’s the suppliers fault, I object.

I agree, the prices are keen and stock holding high, so theoretically you can get all parts in one order. But when the parts do not materialise or are incorrect plus the hassle and expense trying to return them, the advantages are outweighed by the disadvantages.

I found this website a while ago.

It lists contact details for most of the manufactureres.
