    Re: Bosch brush beware!

The earlier carbons with this part number from Maddocks were the same as the other pattern equivelants. I beleive the ones I have just received are a new batch manufactured under a new spec.

Re: Hotpoint WD72P selector buttons not functioning

    Hi,

Thanks for all the advice on this one.

I know it’s definitely not ankle biters fiddling with the buttons.

Customer sid he watched the engineer fit the part, switch it on and let it fill, wash and drain. Definitely didn’t programme it so it looks as if this is down to the

    dodgy Hotperloni engineer

    Re: Bosch brush beware!

I’ve had the same problems with non gen Bosch carbons. I vowed to only fit the gen in future, but…….

I had some non gen on back order that came through today from Maddocks. The tags are different, look much more like the genuine and the brush appears to be laminated.

I will let you know what they are like whenI use them.

Maddocks part number is 12-BS-03 if you’re interested.

Thanks for the info, is it possible these boards can revert to a default stated and loses the programmed option, or is it more likely it wasn’t set up when fitted?

    Re: A “Call out” charge

I find quite a few customers who are looking for a free estimate can be converted to the idea you don’t get something for nothing.

Invest just a couple of minutes explaining the difference on the phone and most can see the sense in it. You only have to explain whoever calls out has one intention, and that is to make a living ‘one way or another’!

It saves me disabling the machine before I leave, having told them how to repair it themselves, after they refuse to pay a call out charge because “you tell me that on the phone”!

Re: Notify me when a reply is posted

Well that didn’t work. If you hover the mouse over the edit button it says “edit/delete this post”.

When you click on it you get an option to edit it but no delete 😕 .

I madea post in the “Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?” but couldn’t delete it. If anyone knows how I can do it let me know or if not can a moderator delete it for me?

    Thanks,

    Keith.

Re: Notify me when a reply is posted

I think that a ‘subscribe to thread’ option is what Twoten was asking about

    Spot on.

Just a thought, I’m not sure about posting a thread saying “interesting” as you we could end up have quite a few ‘”interesting” posts, but I will try posting an “interesting” comment into a thread and then deleting with the edit button and see if it removes the ‘Notify me when a reply is posted’ comand.

A bit messy but maybe a workaround!

Sorry, I should have searched to see if anyone had already asked the question.

    Thanks.,

    Re: That Partscenter website!!

    Martin,

To check the stock on the parts centre instead of you post code or DL10 put in “melmerby” and click on the bottom line which is “Melmerby, Ripon, North Yorkshire” this will give you the stock at the ‘feeder’.

Only problem as I understand it is this is not updated live so can’t be guaranteed.

Re: Neff Single Oven not getting hot enough

    Thanks for the advice,

I’m fairly sure it’s not the AEG version as I didn’t have one in stock whereas I carry a few of the Neff elements. The only way this may have happened is if Europart have labelled it incorrectly.

I will go back and check the voltage sounds feasible but not come across it before. I will also check the element wattage just i case. The fan appeared to run at a reasonable speed and the door hinges appeared to be OK but will double check.

I may have put a slightly different Neff element in. I know I sometimes carry two different style of element for the Neff. One the element runs parallel from the bracket an turns at 90deg’s into the circular section where the other type comes in a ‘V’ running straight into the curved section. Can anybody tell me if interchanging these types will cause a problem?

Re: Neff Single Oven not getting hot enough

Checked the heating time on this oven.

It takes just under 11 minutes to heat to 150C. I think the element fitted is 2.3kw. I have checked with BSH who said the element is the 262180 and is rated at 2.3kw.

clivejameson, you say the element should be a 2.5kw, do you have a part number for this?

    Re: tool box

The Europart ABS Tool Case without the tools was about £70 inc VAT about 18 months ago.

    Re: tool box

I replace my tool box last year. I went from a conventional box to a rigid shell tool-case. I checked out RS, Maplins and any others I could find and found Europart do one, part number 55-SE-34. It’s made by Hepco & Becker and is the Budget case. The tool panels inside are made specifically for Europart so if you can put up with the gaudy Blue with yellow trim (check out the special models section on there website http://www.hepco-becker.de/werkzeugkoffer_eng/frameset.php)) it’s not a bad tool case.

I’m not sure I would get a tool kit with the tools complete; you will probably end up with quite a few tools that are not used and still have to buy others that are not provided.

    Keith.
