    Hi,

Not sure what a paint gun compressor sounds like, however if everything else is ok, but it needs re-gassing, then you will hear (and be able to feel) the compressor running. It’s the black ball shaped thing at the back. Try putting your hand on it. If you feel a constant vibration and it’s warm/hot then it’s running and it does need re-gassing.

It does sound to me though, that the noise you can hear is it trying to start.

Re: AEG T76485AH Heat pump condenser dryer bearing query

    Hi Martin,

Job done satisfactorily on Saturday. Pleasure to work on machines like these – a far cry from wobbly Hotpoint dryers. The machine had spent its first couple of years in an unheated garage. The air seals had a ring of rust on their sealing surfaces which had increased friction with the drum interface, causing difficult rotation culminating in belt breakage. Hopefully the customer will take heed, and give this expensive appliance house room from now on.

    Thanks again Martin

    Hi Martin,

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. Yes, the emails have been a great help and it’s great to be able to enhance my appliance knowledge. Will be doing the job on Saturday probably and I’ll post on here with an update.

    Thanks very much

Yup, you need a torx with a hole in the middle. There’s either a plastic cover which hides the front screw and is recessed into and flush with the handle at the front, or that screw is visible when the handle is removed – can’t remember which. You will see the tabs once you’ve removed the back cover.

Yes, definitely was the problem. Now all I have to do is locate the new part

Actually I think this must be an F1 error – thermistor. Highly likely it wasn’t hooked up to the PCB well enough.

Turns out I was doing it all wrong and was much easier when I went back to it fresh.

    Thanks for your help Andy.

Checked inlet solenoid, which was ok. Sent PCB for repair and it’s fine now

Revisited after customer reported not working again. It would fill completely, in short bursts but then display the ‘check drain/fill hoses’ error mssge.

Turns out it had been poorly installed and probably had never worked from day one. I re-routed the hoses, re-integrated and it works fine now.

Customer reports it works ok on sensor settings. Conclude therefore that it’s a timer fault on the PCB

    Hi Andy,

Tried dilute washing up liquid as I usually do. Came to the conclusion this is what was causing the seal to slip off so tried drying it off but still didn’t work. Are you suggesting not using washing up liquid?

    iadom,

Thank you. I am humbled for my seemingly half baked idea, and doubly rebuked for my thoughtlessly dangerous suggestion.
