Don’t forget if its that old it will have R12 as a refrigerant so it will need pumping out for disposel and one of the new type gasses to replace it.

This machine is about 20 years old
This is from memory
Left hand knob is High /low temperature and heated/unheated drying
right hand knob will be No1 cold rinse and stop No2 pre wash and main wash with or without drying No3 main wash no pre wash with or without drying No 4 quick wash No5 not sure

Fault code 06 is most likely a motor tacho fault , which means a problem with the motor . Possibly time for an Engineer to look at machine.
If your going to look SWITH OFF AND PULL THE PLUG OUT FIRST
And check the brushes again .

It could be the sump hose has a blockage.
The sump hose is the big black hose from the tub to the filter , have a feel along it , socks often get caught there.

Stop using 3 in 1 tablets, just use the plain tablets or powder with seperate rinse aid and if water is already soft try without salt also make sure salt cap is sealing correctly .

Yes I have , the floors were soaking wet and had lumps of brown stuff could not tell if it was dog or human . Did not stay long enough to find out what it was. Never did hear any more from that customer .
Also took kick plate of a dishwasher to be greeted by a rat. tray full of water and floating rat t**ds refused to work on machine as one of my customers husbands had already died of something you can catch from rats .
