    Re: Miele WT2780 Washer Dryer

Update: After racking my brains, yes, I know it’s hard to believe, I decided the fault still had to be in the NTC. Ordered and went back and fitted. Technical fault 3!!! Refitted originally replaced NTC. Technical fault 3!!! Customer said they would reluctantly call Miele, and let me know the outcome. Massive fail. Thanks anyway fellas. Steve.

    Re: Miele WT2780 Washer Dryer

Went back to this machine yesterday and rechecked the connections, continuity etc. No problem there, yet still getting “technical fault 4” (not fault indication 4 as previously stated, sorry my fault) on the dryer only. Washer works perfectly. I tried getting in touch with Miele in the vain hope that they may give me a clue. It didn’t work of course, they told me I need to book an engineer visit haha. I’m beginning to think the supplied NTC may be at fault after all. I’m at a bit of a loss now, although the customer has been very understanding. Sad to say, I may have to give up on this one. Any more ideas? Steve.

Thanks Seamy, I checked all that when I fitted the new NTC, so I know that it is ok in that respect. I think I will have to go back and recheck. The customer has tried several times since I was there, but to no avail. I also checked the PCB that the NTC connects to, and all looks ok. Additionally, it is quite a new machine, just over two years old, and the display doesn’t come up with F4, it comes up with “fault indication 4”. A small point I will concede, but may be relevant. I still can’t get away from this nagging feeling that there is some kind of reset procedure. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you. Steve.

Thank you Seamy. She decided to replace because of the age of it. Steve.

    Hi Martin,

Thank you for your reply. I haven’t been to look at it yet, but the customer says she has done all that and the fault persists. I’m guessing NTC.

    Steve.

Hi Seamy. Thank you for the reply. No fault code shown. It’s in a bit of a tight place so I couldn’t really do a lot, hence I wanted to be armed with a bit of info before I go back and drag it out. I am guessing that it has two compressors which is why the freezer is ok. I agree, the NTC is favourite here. I may just order one and take a chance. Steve.

Hi Martin. No, I checked all the usual suspects on my second visit. Thank you anyway though. Steve.

Thank you Criscold. Damn! I can’t believe I didn’t check that as I have come across it before. I’ll put it down to a mental block lol. I’ll check it out and let you know. I can get into diagnostics, but the display is all over the place. That would tie in with a faulty dryer heater. Thank again. Steve.

Cheers quick fix. I couldn’t find any leaks, it was one of the things I checked at the time. I suspect it may have been water that had leaked into the base when I took it apart through that small removeable plate underneath. Anyway, I managed to get it working on the day, and the customer rang to say it has been working a treat ever since. Thanks once again for your advice. Steve.

Thanks for that Paul. Yes it does have the full pulley, so I will take my torque wrench! I had heard of this problem which is why I asked. No harm done Dave, these things happen. I will check out the drum rear half. Cheers. Steve.
