look at the selector switch. I had one caught me out a tiny piece of plastic holding the centre broke away so that the knob turned but the switch/stat didnt.

    good luck wilf

if its the one Im thinking of it comes as a belt pulley kit. I thought to take the drum out but you can take the motor out (side panel off fan off) I took off more than I needed but the next will be much easier not too bad a job

    Re: Retirement

its getting harder and harder to find enough to keep going but pushing 60 and self employed for years I’ve got no choice but to carry on. ebay killed the few spares sales (any damb fool can give it away) cheap new machines wipe out any repairs over the ton and younger attitude to just bin it dont help. new machines are different from the old, boots dont rot pumps dont leak tubs dont rust air chambers dont block hoses dont split.
I wont miss the day when I can afford to throw in the spanner, just hope I can afford to stop before the work does.

    hoover dryer heater
when replacing the heater the four wires will pull through the rear hole ok to change but the problem is fitting the retainer clip back into its retaining hole to hold the wires clear of the drum .
first thread a lenght or 1.5mm stranded curled banana shaped in from the back and out of the cable hole strip the wipe and hook a couple of strands around the clip push it inside then pull gently trim off when in place

    Re: Yell.Com

I use a bigger advert in Yell its near the top of the list and will be prominent hit for a punter looking for a repair. google washer repair, in my area, brings up Yell, brings up me.
beware yell selling you count lists as this means calls diverted via a special number your own number will not be shown! although you will receive all call via either, its a bit pointless if you have your standard number on cards, vans, invoices etc

    Re: Creda T/dryer lid problem

sorry didnt make that clear put the screwdriver in the gap at the side of the between the lid and the side panel when the back of the lid is lifted slightly. on the righthand side a quater turn clockwise should do the trick

    Re: Creda T/dryer lid problem

lift the back of the lid put a broad blade screwdriver in the gap fairly far forward and twist GENTLY so that the top edge of the screwdriver pushes the lid backwards. works for me.
