    Re: Motor speed control

the formula you quote is for induction motors. carbon brush motors (series field) in theory are load dependant and have no top end speed if run unloaded with a un interupted supply. electronic speed control chops the 50Hz sine wave thus giving a burst of supply every 100th’s of a second. by altering the length or this burst of supply more of the sine wave cycle is allowed to be completed and and thus the speed altered. the tacho generates a small voltage fed back to the module as a referance

    well something like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pattern Heaters: A cautionary tale 🙁

had this a few years ago bosch “genuine “element from wash vac (yes that long ago) replacement leaked as well or it would have but a good tug proved that even though it was tight I could pull it out. as I had thrown away the original I had nothing to compare with. howeaver the next element again genuine was different the rubber had a shoulder on it and could not be budged. everyone denied everything but I got the distinct impression that the problem WAS known about and was PROBERBLY dodgy imported stock. apparantly the automotive and aerospace industry is plagued with fake spares. was this a similar case? I dont know. I dont think that any of the supplier would allow poor quality product to be sold on purpose but the ammount of stock shifted and the ammount of hands passed through could be an open oppitunity for the less than honest.

your house will sink as the water will pool by the foundations ring your local council and ask for the building inspector. I had this once and when I went outside to look I sunk up to my ankles.
Best action first is to knock on door with a six pack and a few meters of waste pipe! 😆

leaflet no 8200754 supersedes leaflet no 8300182
on all models prior to the VTD range (may 2004) the 2mm spacer washer should be fitted between the collar and bearing support bracket
I took that to mean dont fit it on VTD’s although I always used to. How’s it read to you?

p.s. fitted a kit last Friday there was no washer in the kit and none on the original.still worked ok

Re: Hotpoint 5 Year parts warranty

I’ve come across this “you must register” and I have seen the stickers on new product saying the same. still if you keep cutting costs and quality drops 5 years is an awfully long time to honour a gurantee.

check wires to board from p/sw and heater if you get these on wrong you’ll lose spin. if I remember right its shrouded terminal goes closest to side of machine.

digi kit is now sold on its own 1604976 .the FHP motor is much the best option if the customer will run to it as the bigger bearing mean smoother quieter running
