It is not possible to say who is at fault without inspecting the damaged area… When Beko call out they may tell you that the installation was faulty or they may tell you that the cooker was faulty, but in order for them to do that they need to inspect the damage too.

I would definately be chasing for repairation of faulty goods on this one…

Even if she washed a whole cow without skinning it first she could not have caused that.

Therefore the club must be doing something right for them to reside there surely?

I’m not saying that it is unfounded. In fact, if you are part of the ‘Get Rich Quick’ and don’t give a damn group, then maybe DASA is a good place you you to make connections. But isn’t this is the problem. DASA purports to be for the independant and they have a COP to adhere to, however, although you sign-up to a Code of Practice, it seems like you wont be held to account if you break it, unless you are an independant engineer, and that in my eyes is wrong.

….So from what you tell me then the following statement from DASA sums up the whole package : –

    DASA” website wrote:
What is DASA’s purpose? …..The Association is both an exclusive club and a bona fide National Trade Association.

    ….it’s a club..!!

Yup… your welcome 🙂 I just thought I would confirm it for you, but add an explanation at the same time to those who thought when being an engineer who was a member of DASA meant that they would gather some form of protection, that DASA is just an exclusive club and a National Trade Association.. not a Trade Association that is purely for independants.
Anyway, for those manufacturers, work providers, insurance companies and nationwide service networks that were not aware of this club for them, well there you go, the information is there now.

I wonder why then that manufacturers, work providers, insurance companies AND nationwide service networks still choose to associate themselves with them? I must be missing something here, what could be their reasoning for this?

I think that would be the case that DASA purport to support the plight of the independants yet don’t hold back the reigns of the Manufacturers, WP’s, IC’s, or Service Net’s that continually flout every moral crevice when is comes to being able to get to the customer before the next man.
Manufacturers that think ‘Ooooh, we’ll take the work as well as sell the appliances. WP’s that steal work away from the independants only to offer it back to them at a lower rate later on. Insurance Companies that tout for business to our customers and try sell them insurance rather than a repair, and then rip the customer off with the BER tactics. Service Networks that constantly lower the rates so that they are granted a higher profit and are not interested in the engineer that is working for them … We’ll use the WALMART technique scenario.. Yet DASA just sits back and accepts the fees from them and allows some of them to break the DASA COP without any recourse.
This is proberbly why manufacturers, work providers, insurance companies AND nationwide service networks still choose to associate themselves with DASA

No wash action coupled with a buzz could mean the motor capacitor is US.. but it could also mean the motor is US.

Check the tacho at the rear of the motor… use a multimeter on ohms on the two wires from the tacho in the motor socket, spin the motor to see if there is a reading, if there is no reading then you have found your fault.

Re: White knight CL382WV drum not turning

    Hi Samantha,

Unfortunately for safety reasons we cannot instruct you on the dismantling of your machine in any way. Sufice to say that the motor and capacitor are underneath the drum and are only accessed by partial dismantling of the machine.
Having said that, I should really say that the “screeching” does sound like there is a little more serious problem than you think and you should really have a professional assess the fault. FIND AN ENGINEER
