    Re: Hoover D6148 T/Dry – door switch

That looks the same as a Zanussi DW400 / Z30 dishwasher door interlock switch – the actuating lever is slightly different. If you can get one of those you can swap that quite easily.

If the door switch is the type that has a plastic rod pressing on the lever, then you can use SWT4720 from Connect and choose a lever to suit. It is possible – I have done it this way. 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

I’ve used a Qualtex MTR215 many times – seems to fit most ovens.

    Re: dual fuel dilemma

I understand that as “the last guy to touch it” you are running a risk should the worst arise. But I was under the impression that to get Corgi to finally state in writing what was and what wasn’t permissible to non – registered persons was our actual aim. Irrespective of whether we go ahead and repair a dual fuel cooker or not. Clarification is what is required from Corgi.
But if we already know the answer, and can predict what will happen if the worst arises, why are we asking at all?

    Steve.

BTW – I turn away all calls to dual fuel range cookers – and that’s not that many ATM, just in case problems arise. But – the question is, do I need to? 😕

    Re: CANDY CN 450

    Hi Richard!!
You need to look at the main PCB (at the top front right of the machine). Unplug the 2 wire plug that goes through the hole in the plastic cover and remove the cover. You will see a row of triacs / transistors. IIRC, the 5th one along (counting from the centre of the PCB) is the pump supply. These often blow or burn out and give intermittent pump faults. Usually condensation dripping on the pump below will cause this. New PCB will probably be required.
Whether the PCB is fried or not, for peace of mind fit a new pump and make sure you cover it with a plastic shield to prevent it reoccurring. 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Re: dual fuel dilemma

I spoke to a senior gas engineer today and he agreed that as long as the gas supply isn’t disconnected or any pipes damaged or disturbed, then it is permissible to repair the electrical side of a dual fuel cooker. I don’t get many requests for repairs on dual fuel stuff, but the amount of range cookers coming up will surely mean someone has to repair them. Get a Corgi fitter? Fat chance – why repair a greasy cooker when you can fit a boiler? No contest!! 😀
I think you have to use your discretion at all times to evaluate each job and decide if what you are doing is safe. If the part you need to fit involves moving or adjusting anything carrying gas, then you have to stop and say No. If you can’t make that distinction, then you should say No before you start.
If the Corgi “engineer” who fitted my boiler is anything to go by, Stevie Wonder could do a better job – with his eyes shut!!

    Thanks Greg!!
It is very strange because everything worked as normal after I moved the wiring. Hopefully an oxidized connection was at fault. :rolls:
    Bu99ered if I know….. 😳
Hmmm – pyrocrap; py-lof-crap more like.

Re: zanussi TLE 1116W top loader

This is a known fault and modified parts are required. Covers have been added at the opening of the overflow; and crosspieces added at the overflow edges.

Part numbers for modified dispenser units (from TDS):-

    146142012/5 – (3 chamber).

    146142013/3 – (4 chamber).

    146364303/9 – (with the EWM1000 electronic controls).

from Serial no. 418 – modified parts are already factory fitted.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Re: Tricity Bendix AW1560W

Pressure switch faulty; heater faulty or earth leak @ heater; wiring problem or PCB failure. If it’s only on the wash, I would suggest heater first as the PCB and pressure switch are used at all other times throughout the wash cycle and rinses. 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Adrian, could you ask afterwards that they could put the answer to the ultimate white goods question in writing? Corgi seemed to have avoided doing this before.
What do you think? Worth a try?

754130436 is the part number I am getting as well. 😕 Unfortunately, there isn’t a photo of it on my system so I can’t clarify if it is round or square.
    Sorry!!

Applying for TA membership is very similar to Repairs @ anyway. The form seems to fit the bill, and we know it’s reasonably comprehensive, so if it ain’t broke……. 😉
The only thing to add would be the ID card order section – ie:- how many and also to remind everyone to send in a photo. It’ll also need a “Total Due” box for payment for any ID cards ordered.
