At this rate the future will be “Do you want a side order of Garlic Bread with that, Sir?” 😆
Sorry to be negative, but having another 25 years to retirement, it is something you have to consider; even the possibility that this business may cease to exist. 🙁

I wasn’t aware that Indesit washers lasted long enough to scale up…….. 😈

I’d like attend the venue in ‘wherever’;- but ‘wherever’ could hopefully be a little further south if possible. 😉 I missed the Sibson meeting as I found out just a few days before – couldn’t change my schedule as I was ‘stupid busy’ at the time.
    Bournemouth is nice…….(allegedly) 😀

Quite often, a machine that progresses through the ‘Stop’ marker and starts another wash will usually have a pressure switch fault or blockage. A faulty pump could also give this fault.
If these check out OK, then it will probably be the timer.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Hope that helps,

It’s a Whirlpool machine. Press and hold the start button for 3 seconds to reset, switch off and on again and try to select a programme.

    Hope that helps,

    Re: Leaking DWF61

A couple of things I’ve had in the past…..
Salt compartment retaining ring (the large ‘nut’ under the salt cap) sometimes comes loose and gives the impression of a heater box leak; and appears first on the left side. 😉 I had one that filled the base to raise the float in 1 fill cycle. As soon as the motor started, water poured into the base. Always check this ‘nut’ if the base is found to be full of water. Usually caused by the customer being brutal when unscrewing the cap. :rolls:
Next, the salt grain hole. Almost always found around the lip that the filter edge fits into. Hard to see at first; but can usually be found quite easily with a torch.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

P.S. I’ve had a bottom wash rotor split along the seam – under pressure the water shot around the edge and base of the door. Watch for that!! 😉

Re: Hotpoint WD420P, dryer does not work

The left handed thread Jim was refering to tightens a collet on the fan shaft. Notorious for slipping and allowing the fan to contact the heater housing. (hence the ticking noise).
Firstly, POWER OFF. Remove the top half of the heater chamber. Turn upside down to view the fan blade. Spin the fan by hand, if it’s badly out of round, a replacement is the only answer. If it runs reasonably true, undo the collet nut, reposition and tighten the fan. Refit the fan chamber and test.
The photo you have highlighted is of the fan MOTOR not the blade. If you say it’s ticking, then the motor should be running and O.K. To obtain the correct fan blade, click the ‘Shop @’ banner.
If you are at all unsure how to progress, click the ‘Repairs @’ banner for an engineer in your area.

Power off before any inspection. :plug:

Indesit K5, L5, L6 – rebuilt loads of them in my formative years. The Philco / Bendix machines – 7142 and 7147 were built like tanks. The old Philco-Ford machines with the soap drawer stupidly placed in the back left corner of the lid. :con: And those lovely Bendix LT’s………. 👿
    Happy days…… :innocent:

That’s exactly the description of the fault my customer is experiencing!
Thanks very much Mark – I don’t relish ordering anything costing that much without being sure it will cure the fault.

    Cheers,

Valve / wiring to valve or PCB methinks. I had a similar fault last month and it was the PCB. 😥

    Re: zanussi fla 1201w overfilling

I’ve cleaned hundreds of these manifolds and never had a callback for the same fault. It depends if you want to carry ££’s of rarely used and cumbersome spares on the off-chance you may have the right one in stock. Or if you wish to call twice.
A clean – up also acts as an impromptu education for the customer. All are surprised by what is removed and appreciate the effort put in on their behalf to remedy the seemingly terminal fault they reported. Washing techniques can be discussed and advice given to prevent reoccurence. All for 10 minutes extra to stop and clean the manifold out. I suppose it’s all down to having ‘pride in the job’- a little old – fashioned maybe; but heh, it works for me. 😉
And a satisfied customer is a return customer…….

    Steve.
