ParticipantRe: Finally, WEEE Hits the Media!
Well, I did it, I mentioned bonded tubs! But after I submitted the form I had such a feeling of hopelessness: that we are all being swept away on a huge tidal wave of legislative bulls**t that you start to wonder why you bother. It seems like we must make hay while the sun shines in this industry for how long will we still be able to make a living from it? 🙁

Thanks guys for the info. I may just take the plunge!!!!
Why not the Indesit you ask? I quite like my customer and I still insist that Indesit is spelt incorrectly -there’s an ‘H’ missing!!! :rotl:July 25, 2006 at 11:10 pm in reply to: Candy CN136 Washing machine bearings – 31000753044322215 #183033aqualectric

Make sure you have a winch or 2 people available when you come to lift out the drum – ‘out through the top’ job. The drum is a cumbersome and heavy assembly to handle alone. 😉

Would this be a good moment to, shall we say, accidentally mention Indesit and Electrolux’s new moulded tub disposable washers? 😉

Checked the filter behind the plinth? Recirc. pump is useless when this is blocked or the pump is jammed. 😉
Cheers,
Steve.

I did one of these about a year ago now – used a Zanussi small bearing kit. 6204ZZ and 6205ZZ bearings and the seal is identical. Fitted and worked a treat. 😉
Hope that helps as I had exactly the same problem finding the individual parts; so I eventually stripped the machine and matched the parts.

He’s not still at it is he? The axe he was grinding should be down to the handle by now. Obviously been put on short time since Chernobyl.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the story go that the Great Big Billy Goats Gruff KICKED the Troll out into the wide blue yonder………… but the Troll’s still here!!!!! 🙄ENTRANCE GOATBOY!!!!!! :rotl:

Geoff, check this with Tony (EMW). They do Beko PCB’s now and you can be sure to get the right one and it’s tested. They’ll also have a list of common faults to look for on those boards. EMW (01159) 652118.
Maybe that will help!!Steve.

ParticipantRe: Dishwasher Engineers 2??
Note how he sidesteps every question and ignores every valid point. Not the mark of an educated man – just a delusional fool. Or spammer.
I for one have better things to do with my life than to rise to the bait again. There is none so blind as those who will not see. Let’s hope his car doesn’t break down on the motorway – I’d hate to be the AA engineer called out to rescue his sorry arse.
I’m sure mjk8’s real name is Rick; (with a silent ‘P’ of course). :rotl:aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Dishwasher Engineers 2??
For a highly qualified “engineer” his spelling is atrocious!! Good grief – ‘instutute’ and ‘qualfied’ in the same sentence!! Now it’s quite understandable to type so badly when one is so dreadfully upset about the injustices in the world today; honestly, calling yourself an engineer when you are not university graduated?? That will never do! It obviously proves he’s met and interviewed us all!!! But just imagine, all you lowly ‘repairmen’; if the standard of Dave P’s computer work is so terribly inaccurate day to day as it is on this forum, another Chenobyl will probably be the result.
And not a single lowly ‘washing machine repairmen’ was involved in that. We leave that to the ‘real’ engineers. People in glass houses etc….
So, it seems to me that Dave P and mjk8 are almost certainly the same person. There surely could not be 2 people showing such an staggering absense of respect for other trades. It certainly shows an appalling lack of character and imagination to start a post “I give up”, when a university qualified engineer would be able to hold an intelligent and coherent discussion without profanity or intent to upset.
I would suggest that Dave P and mjk8 are almost certainly spammers of the 14 year old spotty ‘Billy-no-mates’ variety that do little to further the human gene – pool. Intelligent and articulate adults would know better.
If, of course, they are 2 different ‘people’, then this is worrying. Anyone spouting such sanctimonious garbage only belongs in one kind of “Institute”: one with padded walls. The staff are probably frantically looking for ‘them’ right now.
UK Whitegoods is benevolent organisation run for the benefit of members of the industry, but also offers free help and advice to the public. All we ask in return is cooperation and respect for the essential role we play day to day.
Please leave this site and it’s ENGINEERS alone. What you are doing is not big, and it’s not clever. Your aspertions serve no purpose; they don’t change anything. You are little more than playground bullies; lashing out at others in a futile attempt to disguise your own deep insecurity. You do a grave disservice to your industry and your peers. You should hang your head in shame.
It’s must be comforting to tell yourself, “Wow, what an amazing specimen I am”. But sadly, you are the only one that believes it.
When you say “I give up” – kindly take your own advice; ‘give up and go away’ – permanently.aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Zanussi WJS 1397 W
Mostly tacho magnet or coil; loose or misaligned.
But I did have one Zanussi 1200 spin (very similar machine) do this a while back and it turned out to be a shorting armature; not bad enough to pop the mains RCD, but the timer just didn’t like it!!! 🙄Steve.

Yes, it’s true that E’proms can be reconfigured over and over but the easiest (and cheapest) way is to contact EMW and speak to Tony – they supply boards and separate E’proms at a sensible price. 8)

ParticipantRe: zanussi WDJ1257W E40 not door lock
Fault codes E40/41/42/43 relate to interlock related faults.
Faulty interlock; wiring from main PCB to interlock faulty (possibly oxidised edge connections – clean, tighten plugs and refit) or door control triac on PCB = new PCB. No signal from tacho, water detected in the drum or the water is at 40 degrees all cause E40 codes says TDS Distriparts DVD ie the Horse’s mouth!
I have had several faults caused by the edge connector on the user interface PCB (push button facia PCB). The plug is very flimsy and poor or oxidised contacts here can throw up all sorts of control issues. You’ll need to remove the facia, unplug and remove the board from its holder. Lightly clean the edge connections and gently nip the plug together with pliers to tighten it and reassemble. Definitely worth doing!! 😉Hope that helps,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: SMS4472GB/20 no water in
Take the inlet hose off the tap. Is there a powerful flow of water? Does the inlet hose have a rubber washer in it to seal it to the tap with a grit mesh in the middle of it? Is it blocked? Have you disconnected the inlet hose from the valve (with it reconnected to the tap) and checked for good water pressure at the valve? The rusty deposit in the airbox suggests :- silted inlet hoses, blocked grit mesh, silted or non – functioning tap. The blue handle of these taps quite often turn on the ‘d’ shaft without turning the tap internals. 😉
As ever, power off and machine unplugged before attempting a repair. :zap:
