ParticipantRe: INDESIT W103 WASHING MACHINE
Try swapping the pressure switch. Yes; I know it sounds unlikely, but the terminals inside the switch burn and fail even though they seem to still click on / off. It appears to be quite a common fault with these machines. This causes the timer to ‘abort’ 3 or 4 minutes into the cycle. Not necessarily the PCB. 😉
Hope that helps!!
Steve.

ParticipantRe: Indesit D61D
Could very well be the timer as they can burn out internally (but look OK on the outside). Stopping in one position is a common fault.
BUT – don’t order more parts! Click the ‘Repairs @’ banner to get an engineer to examine your dishwasher. Compared with what it’s cost you in unnecessary parts so far a service visit is a veritable bargain!! 🙂aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Beko WM1512s
Pressure chamber clear? Pressure switch click on / off? Does blowing into the pressure switch make any difference to the motor turning?
If all OK, could be the PCB. Call EMW (01159) 652118 as they repair and also refurb Beko boards. 😉Hope that helps,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: cannot identify this washing machine??? details below
Looks like it’s a Servis – you usually can tell by the small filter in the bottom right corner. Also the knobs have sprung-loaded shrouds that push back as you turn the timer / temp / drier knobs and return to a ‘flush fit’ when let go. Another giveaway is the very small pressed drum paddles. (and there are 4 of them, not your usual 3). If so, it’s a Servis clone. 😉
Hope that helps!!

ParticipantRe: Homark semi-integrated dishwasher
Thank you Dave!! On reflection, the filters and motor are certainly Bosch. Also Bosch ‘site shows ‘Homark’ models when Enr is entered.
Didn’t know that!!! 😯
Thanks again,Steve.

I’ve got this exact cooker in my house and it’s running a THM4317 2tag stat – £4.99 from Connect. Perfect!!! 😉
BTW, Elba is part of DeLonghi group now so all parts can be found if you search for the cooker as a DeLonghi PX906.Hope this helps!!

ParticipantRe: Pat testing
I did the day-release course 3 years ago, mostly to refresh what I already knew and did. 1 day and 1 evening to get a recognised City & Guilds qualification? No problem! It opens up new avenues of work in schools, care homes, clubs, shops (especially hairdressers) and housing associations etc. as you can say “Yes, we do that” rather than farming the work out to an electrician. Most of the aforementioned need a yearly check to be legal anyway and the qualification allows you to provide an extra branch of your service in-house; whether repairing the faulty item or replacing it with new. And you get to keep your customer as YOUR customer. 😉
Can’t be bad!Steve.

ParticipantRe: ‘A’ rated T/D?
Using that 8 hour cycle regularly will undoubtedly mean a very short lifespan for belt, motor and bearings that don’t fare all that well when used for 80 mins 5 times a week ie. normal usage. What the customer saves on electric they will end up spending 10 times as much to replace it. 🙄
Pardon the pun, but what a load of hot air!!! 😆aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Diplomat oven fan
Would a Creda fan motor (with the round mounting plate) do the job? I’ve been able to use this motor in loads of different ovens over the years as it has several fitting options. It’s genuine part number is:- 54879 or Electrue part no. 5031680203172 (gen) or MTR8001 pattern. Prices are:- £8.65 +VAT (gen) or £7.75+ VAT (pattern).
Worth a try!!! 😉Steve.

ParticipantRe: Indesit WE12UK door inner
Actually I meant the whole complete door from Connect was £26.61 inc VAT – so it’s a bargain really!! 😀 I just wanted to be sure it wasn’t available in component form before quoting and ordering.
Thanks for the quick response, Dave!
Cheers,Steve.

ParticipantRe: Drum
Well it’s still quicker than the manufacturer would have done it – and they wouldn’t have funded a new one either. That’s independent service for you – quick and reliable!
When our machine didn’t drain, I said to my wife,”Haven’t you cleaned the filter? Tut tut – you’re always telling our customers to do it!”
To which she replied “Yes, but I don’t have a dog to bark myself”. To which I replied, err, nothing. It was too near dinner time to run the risk. 😆aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Hot and Cold Fill Hoses
I’ve never had a problem with any inlet hoses since the Indesit L6 / 2000 ‘separate washer’ types. You know, the ones that used to craze and crack for a pastime and cut their washers to ribbons when you tightened them up. (remember them?). Ahhhh, those were the days………
But I have found that the hose washers available loose from Connect are far too small in diameter to make a good seal if tightened up at all. They are about 1/8″ too small which causes the washer to be ‘cut’ by the threaded end of the valve, rendering it useless immediately. The washers do not sit snugly in the hose end so they are able to move around as the hose is tightened up and invariably go off – centre and leak like a sieve. Stupid things!! Maybe the PTFE inadvertently fills the gaps?
Please note that this problem, of course, only happens on hoses in tight, spider – filled cupboards and behind inaccessible integrated machines that are full of water with pump failure. 👿

ParticipantRe: Beko WMA1715S dead
Thanks all! But as usual, with the utterance of the words ‘PCB or computer failure, madam’, the reply comes, ‘Nah, don’t worry, I’ll go and get a new machine’. 🙄 .
At this rate, the highest peak on the planet will be the white goods mountain; never mind Everest. 👿aqualectric
ParticipantRe: Beko WMA1715S dead
Thanks very much for the replies. I’ll try the diagnostic route today – great to have that ‘inside’ information. Cheers!!! 😀
