Jogged my memory………. 😯
I had a recon WM series do this years ago – couldn’t find the problem for ages. The motor would run as if it was going to spin then stop. It would then try to turn the other way, do the same fast turn and stop.
Traced the fault to the zip tie that holds the motor loom to the body. The hole that the zip tie passes through had a burr that had made a small tear in the tacho wiring insulation and was intermittently touching the body (earth). The tacho signal to the timer was effected by this ‘short’. Moved and reconnected the wire and all OK. Also check the Rast plug on these motors for broken wiring as it exits the plug.Hope that helps,
Steve.

Phidom wrote:Just wondered if anyone has used this spares supplier? I needed a bottom oven element for a Diplomat oven. Masterpart listed it as a special order whilst APart4U listed it as a stock item but were obviously dearer as they sell retail. I asked the customer if they want it cheaper with a potential delay or dearer but quicker. They left it up to me 😕 so I ordered it from Masterpart. After waiting a month I cancelled the Masterpart one and ordered it from APart4U. I’ve now waited a week for it. I emailed them yesterday to ask when it would arrive but no answer so far. I paid by Paypal so if it does not come soon I will try to get the payment reversed.
Phone AW Services on (01603) 412324 – they may stock it.

Pull the orange wires on that thermistor in the bottom hose; they are notorious for snapping at the plug.

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP8525 dishwasher
Remove the two original O rings. There is not enough room to fit 2 of the same size on each nozzle so I fit a smaller thickness, smaller diameter one first then refit the original. Aim to get the retaining clip to catch tightly, so a bit of trial and error needed. Put a smear of washing up liquid on the original O rings so they will slide in the sockets easier and will compress better without the rubber sticking. For security, I zip-tie the catch lever in place so it cannot come adrift.
Hope that helps,
Steve.

Yeah, I know….but it seems the Amicas suffer the same. But if it’s already been done then great!! You did ask!! 😉

ParticipantRe: Suggestion Box
Beefing up the front concrete weight bolts for a start – I’ve virtually lost an AW23 to this fault today. (John has the details.) The bolts snap off behind the head meaning they are in effect being stretched beyond their tensile strength. The results of the failure can be shocking.
Please, please get them to put in bolts that are up to the job!! Zanussi bolts by comparison are twice as thick!!
I think Steven (G+B) said they had sorted the soap hose damage problem that affected the AW23 on the recent Amicas by increasing the distance between the hose and the tub joint rim. (I can’t find the post that mentions it ATM). It would be good to know if that has, in fact, happened.Steve.

ParticipantRe: Qualtex South West Closing
Sad day indeed – thanks to John and all the team past and present for the excellent service they have provided. Like Martin, I was buying parts from Mobile Appliance Spares when they started in Wilson Rd in Bournemouth. That was a long time ago in arguably better times.
Gone are the days of phoning at midday and receiving the parts by 3.30pm the same day……that service helped me tremendously as a one man band to react to urgent jobs and bolster the reputation of my business. That convenience is something I will miss.I would like to wish John and all the staff at South West the very best of luck for the future.

It would remove insurance rejections as the repairer would collect labour on every call including blockages and would shut up the muppets on the public forum, although perhaps not as I think one of them is looking for a “news story”I thought Miele administered their own warranties with no involvement from insurance companies? If “mbooth” buys a Miele, he is going to encounter much the same. :rolls:
